My '65 Hofner

I bought this 1965 Hofner 500/1 Beatle Bass in March, 1987. I found it advertised in a local newspaper for an unbelievably low price, even for the '80s.

On stage with Ticket To The Beatles at the New Town St. Charles Amphitheatre, September 4th, 2009.

Ticket To The Beatles opening for the legendary Chuck Berry at Bluberry Hill, St. Louis. Blueberry Hill owner Joe Edwards, center. April 12, 2006

With Chuck Berry, March 14, 2007. TTTB opened for Chuck again this night. (Special thanks to Bob Lohr!)

Shown with my replica of George Harrison's psychedelic Fender Stratocaster, "Rocky". Painted by George Smith October 2002.

Luckily, the electronics were in perfect shape.

This lovely instrument sounds and plays like a dream. Contrary to some reports, Hofner basses stay in tune very well and the intonation on this bass is superb all the way up the neck.

The case that came with the bass is the original tolex-covered, rectangular, Fender style with blue lining.

With my original bass, a Conrad Violin Bass.
