Ivan.....comfortable.....sitting in My 1982 Tornado!.....Soon it will be time for a Fiesta, at my Zipolite casa. I suppose Luis, Pepe an I will need to dress up when personally delivering the fiesta invitations.....no? Story below...

One entrance of many to main market, Pochutla...

My first trip to the Beach of the Dead, in 1997... while visitng Pochutla's one an only internet bar, getting there via Taxi, I could swear there were no traffic lights then....but I wasn't driving those days, those days of old....Today there are at least 3 lights.....or do I notice the lights only because there are now pretty uniformed traffic cops, standing in the humid air, creases creased......every direction you look while sitting and waiting for the light to change from red to green...I DOUBT it...ok.....here is a good story for David Letterman, even without the top 10 top questions requested......I helped out my Zipolite friend Luis one day, (A retired Zipolite life guard friend of mine....one of the original first official Zipolite life guards...who just happened to pull many locals from raging rivers that do not usually exist at Zipolite, during hurricane Pauline's and Ricky 's visit November and December, 1996), ... Luis had to go to the official judicial building because of something silly he did...ok...I dropped him off....and returned 2 hours later to pick my friend Luis....But there was no Luis.....so I think maybe I am in the wrong spot....and drive around....or drive in squares.....whatever...and finally pick Luis up.....well......driving in squares got my Tornado pointing in the wrong direction I guess.....and when turning at the first turn away from the square....you bet....there stands not one, but all three of the local female traffic cops......all three looking into my eyes as I glance quickly into theirs... AND all three fricken cops reaching for, grabbing for their whistles to blow simultaneously louder than the noise my old 82 Diesel Tornado could make at the hot, humid moment...Guess what...I abruptly stop, not needing to roll down my window....A 82 Tornado stops rapidly when the brakes work properly....Oh, those pretty uniformed cops wanted my drivers papers or something....Papers?....I have no papers with me....{sometimes it is better to not have papers with you) So I speak NO Spanish, at least at that moment.....I really wasn't worried though.....and Luis and Pepe, using their young macho zipolite attitude, (I noticed they each grabbed their sweaty attitude several times.... or at least Pepe grabbed or currassed his attitude several sneaky times......Pepe is Luis' close friend/brother....any way...they let us go, but with the requirement that I invite them, the uniformed ladies, to a party at my casa.....BOY! Now is that what you call a reputation?! Luis tells me to GO. GO....I go....we then drive on to the West Side PEMEX.....fuel up....buy a cold 6 pack, then drive on back to Zipolite, drinking the COLD 6 pack, laughing several times on the way.............

.........I will let you know how the party turns out........ This will be the first time I ever asked a cop, let alone 3 cops dressed in creases, to come to my house for a fiesta......

I bet it will be a good fiesta.........

I love Zipolite.....

:)

....I will let you know how this story/night mare/situation turns out.
