An Image From Draac

Christmas is over, but I hate to toss this little guy, because he was so nice to me and my friends this Christmas (one of my friends got a Gateway computer, and is leaving MSN-TV after being online since December 1996)! This is one of many Santa images, among lots of seasonal, and other images for Webbers that was previously available at Draac's.

Draac was one of the first to provide an online source of images that could be linked to WebTV signature boxes, and uploaded to our scrapbooks after we got PageBuilder.

Recently, Tripod removed all Draac's images in a copyright dispute with Warner Bros., Inc. The GIFS123 website, is still maintained by Draac, without most of the images he had, at Tripod! Draac hopes to soon begin again providing images for Webbers!

How about it, all you guys with computers and graphics software like Flash/Shochwave: do you have any original, non-commercial creations that you will give to Draac for his inventory of images for Webbers? You can still be listed as the image copyright owner if desired, and grant Draac republication and free distribution rights!

The Canadian Rain Forest Wolf

This photo was in the CBS news release about the plight of these endangered animals – being driven into extinction by the Canadian logging industry!

Enlarged Photo of the Rain Forest Wolf
(British Columbia, Canada)

Aw, ... shucks! It's a so-called "light jpeg" – highly compressed to the maximum. Can not be enlarged more than approximately 25- 50%, without losing lots of detail.

Look at this cute little guy!

Another photo of the Canadian Rain Forest Wolf. This cute little guy was in a story by CBS about the plight of these endangered animals being driven from their habitat by the logging industry. My friend Janet put this photo on her beautiful website.

I use this little guy along with the large wolf above in an image swap on my sonification webpages, at:

Draac's Ape

Thanks, Draac, for all your support of WebTV and Webbers! Folks, check out Draac's webpages for one of the really great online resources for Webbers! Draac has supported Webbers with all the many internet options since WebTV came online.

If you need anything for WebTV, please check with Draac first! Check out his sponsors and use them if possible, so we can keep Draac online for Webbers!

WebTV Email Icon.

I believe this image was emailed to many PageBuilders by Beth Candy for uploading to our scrapbooks. I can't dump this image, I've got it published on a webpage somewhere?

Our old WebTV Logo

This old logo was with us for quite awhile!

Microsoft Network Logo

Our former WebTV Networks, Inc. internet service will soon be renamed MSN-TV, and we'll get a new logo incorporatng the MSN logos.

New MSN® TV Logo

This is new MSN® TV logo that is displayed on the MSN® TV web site. However, the regular MSN logo shown above is displayed on our individual subscriber Home Page? I wonder why this logo isn't being used on our Home page?

Yahoo! Mail Logo

Signup for your free Yahoo! Mail account today. WebTV users need a free Yahoo! email account to open many email attachments WebTV cannot open, like Microsoft Word files. Also; at both Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail, you can scan for virus with the Norton Anti-Virus software! Even after a virus warning, you can open the attachment and see all the code.

MSN Hotmail Logo

You can also use a free MSN Hotmail account to open email attached files that WebTV cannot open. When you receive an email with an file attachment that WebTV cannot open, just foward the email message to your Yahoo! or Hotmail box. At your mail inbox, open the message, scroll down and click on "Open attachment." Read, print, and delete the message as you desire.

The WTV-Zone

I recently opened a WTV-Zone account, because most of my friends have accounts there, and I appreciate the Zone's support for Webbers! As soon as I get my Zone account set-up with all the "bells and whistles," I'll transfer most of my PageBuilder tutorials, and will be able to produce a higher quality of tutorials for a few special WebTV projects.

The TL/2 Transloader and Webpage Space

I use a TL/2 (Star Boulevard Transloader) website for storage of sound and image files for my WebTV signature box and PageBuilder webpages. Star Boulevard websites have always allowed linking to WebTV email signature boxes and PageBuilder webpages! I have 30meg of website space with a neat, password protected (if desired) file manager, and 15meg of email space that comes with my TL/2 subscription. I put up a minimum of $15.00 deposit, and pay (deduct against cash balance) only $0.01 (1˘) per 100kb of transloaded data, including emails from outside servers. Seems like my cash balance will last forever, just transloading a few .mid and .wav files! But, I really used the Star Boulevard free transloader a lot for other website space, as many Webbers did, before we got WebTV PageBuilder and WebScissors.

I have long supported Star Boulevard for the free transloader and support they gave to Webbers building webpages at Anglefire, Geocities, Tripod, and others before we got WebTV PageBuilder website space. When Star Boulevard had to suspend the free transloader earlier this year, I signed up for a pay subscription. I use it regularly for single file transloading because I have all my server folders "ftp" addys in a drop-down menu for quick access, so I don't have to type them in the transloader. TL/2 has other options that I haven't used much because I have other resources elsewhere. TL/2 supports PHP (v4.0) for advanced webpage scripting, SSI, Source Code Viewer, multi-file/folder website transloader, an Extract-PDF tool that converts PDF files, the W3C HTML Tidy Tool, Image Tool, WebTV Plus boxes video capture, free NG Message Boards, and a Zip/UnZip tool! Check-out what TL/2 services can do for you!

Bellsouth DSL Fast Access Logo

This is the logo for my Bellsouth DSL line. Kinda pricey at $49.95 per month, but it's worth it! Connecting on the internet and downloads are really fast! It's the same as two phone lines – an analog line on one pair or wires and the digital line on the other pair of the regular 2-pair phone line into my home. I can surf on the DSL line and also make phone calls, fax, or even dial-up my MSN-TV Plus box at the same time on the analog line.

It's more secure than high-speed internet access thru my cable TV company, because Bellsouth DSL assigns a random IP address every time I log-on; rather than the static IP addresses my cable TV company uses for their LAN (local area network) type distribution.

I will use it for my AOL ISP when my free 6-mo trial ends; but, I can't use it for my MSN-TV ISP, unless I set up an ISP with MSN-TV and manually select the icon on my desktop for dial-up (back-up) for the Bellsouth DSL line – which is limited for both the local number and nationwide toll-free number to twenty hours a month, except for outages. This back-up number is for outages and remote access while traveling.

My soon to be gone Windows ME Desktop interface

Shortly, I will load the upgrade to Windows XP and have an entirely different desktop. This same basic opening screen has been on Windows Operating System desktops since 1995.

I have many friends who never took the Windows ME upgrade, because they had a great Windows 98 operating system loaded with enhancement options that they prefer over Windows ME and XP!

They have their computers loaded with many special programs that they prefer over the latest Windows XP upgrade! It's sorta like many of our Webber friends who prefer to stick with the MSN-TV 2.5.5 and 2.6 upgrades over the 2.6.1 and 2.7 upgrades!

But; personally, I prefer to always have the latest operating systems and then add even better enhancements, mostly shareware. I like to tinker with the system – always making changes! It's just for fun and relaxation; pretty enjoyable!

I have Windows XP in the box ready to install, courtesy of HP Computers, at a reduced price. However, I'm not going to install the XP OS untill Microsoft issues fixes for the security leaks that have been recently discovered! When I'm satisfied Microsoft has the necessary security bug fixes posted for downloading, I will install the new XP OS and download the latest updates from the Microsoft website!

A Philips Magnavox Logo

Given to me by my fellow Floridian Wayne George for use in my MSN-TV email signature box. I had been using a funky CSS design, and mentioned it in the PageBuilder Help NG. Wayne found this at Google and emailed me a link. Thanks, Pal!

PageBuilder Background Image

This is the background image from our PageBuilder basic editor screens and our public list of webpages. It looks darker on this webpage background than what it would look like in your email signature box or on a webpage by itself. It makes a nice, conservative looking background image for emails and NG posts! This "styled" division shows how it looks with "white" text.

This image is located at:

http://community-2.webtv.net/jaxred/images/scrapbookFiles/importD44.gif

Upload this background image to your scrapbook if you don't already have it.

You can see the PageBuilder URL of the image by viewing the source code of your PageBuilder Public List of Webpages. The source code of your public list of webpages also shows the URL's of all the thumbnails used for your webpages.

Thanks for visiting my webpage, folks! Have a happy day! My best wishes to all Pagebuilders!

The background music for this webpage is a "Patriotic Medley" consisting of 23 songs that play for 30 minutes. The file size is only 71kb, and loads fairly fast. There's different versions of the same songs near the end that may appear like the medley is repeating. To hear all the medley songs, let it play until the beginning song, "The Stars Spangled Banner", starts again.

Transload this medley to your own website storage space if you like. The file URL is:

One of My MSNTV 2 Billing Statements

This billing statement shows how the charges are prorated and credited or debited for our MSNTV 2 Player account billing. This statement resulted from my brief switch from DSL to dialup for my MSNTV 2 account! I made the switch to test my method of addressing my Linksys router online over a dialup ISP to setup my computer network to network with my MTV2.

My resulting DSL router configuration tutorial is at:

http://community-2.webtv.net/TNB_USER/PPPoE/

Note: this procedure was developed and demoed by me before we got the MTV2 upgrade that allowed us to directly access routers and modems offline with the MTV2. Although my online method for router configuration is still valid, that MTV2 upgrade made this tutorial unnecessary, except for general "what's involved" type informational purposes!

Ha, contrast that MTV2 billing statement with our old WebTV billing statements that go from month to month, with no credit when service charges change, like when switching between Classic and Plus LBBs, or closing the account during the middle of the month! There's no prorated credit for unused service, nor prorated additional charges for increased rates - the old charges carry on to end of the subscription month. The only way to get credits for WebTV LBB service is to call the billing CSRs!
