I am currently in the process of updating these pages, starting with the broadcast schedules.

I made this fansite with my WebTV - a slow dial-up go-cart on the Internet freeway. It served me well for more than ten years but last August I finally puchased my own computer and hi-speed Internet connection. Yipee. The hard part is tearing myself away from it to do ANYTHING else!

If the background of these pages are red, I am still editing. Look toward the bottom of each page for the date it was last changed. I'm starting with Saturday. The chit-chat below, is obsolete but last on the to-do list. Before that, I will first try to add a page dedicated to Steve Elias who passed away suddenly, in his home, late December 2011.

January 2010 - Big news!! The FCC recently okayed a power-up for the station. Three times the current 100 Watts may reach those pockets of Lake County now deprived of reception. KPFZ needs your financial support to make this a reality. To learn more about this story and for all the latest news from KPFZ , Click Here

Expecting the power upgrade AUGUST 2011 - only days away!

KPFZ's radio transmitter is located atop Mt. Konocti in beautiful Lake County, California and serves Lakeport, Clearlake, most of the county, and points beyond. Tune to 88.1 FM for commercial-free, listener supported, culturally diverse free-speech radio programming. This is an all-volunteer station "Where we do radio for love, not for money." Previously a low-power station based in Lucerne, KPFZ became a full power station in April 2008.

Lake County Arts Council has another nice version of this schedule. (In a printer-friendly grid format.) Updated January 1, 2011..

September 2010 - Update - KPFZ's Ning, a social-network site created for us by Carol Cole-Lewis April 2009, is no longer a free site. In response, David Lark has created a new KPFZ-Community Website.
"It's about the same process..., you create an account for yourself, log in, and post, post, post."

Programming Updates

**January 1, 2011 - New Year's Schedule Changes

Changes involve new shows being added to the schedule, the rearranging of some show's repeat times, and the loss of some program's repeat broadcasts.  These changes will not happen all at once but we expect these changes to be implemented by the end of January.

There will be late-night, after Karma Cola, music shows almost every night! Yaaay. Until the transition is complete, the new schedule may not reflect what is actually being heard on air.

Linda Guebert has requested that her Denim Alley  move to a new time and day. After many years on Saturday, it will now be heard on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.

Unherd Radio with Brad King, will now be on every week because The Buckaroo Man Show hosted by wild-west entertainer, John Erfurth, moves to the last Saturday of each month, replacing The Old Okie Show for that day.

We are excited about the new shows coming to KPFZ.. they include a second classical music show (as yet unnamed) with Nick Reid, a new talk show (renamed) Big Art, Big Heart with Susan King; BlueWolf, a Monday-night music and poetry show with James BlueWolf, and the consolidation of Taira St. John's two shows into The Taira St. John Show.

And we have three new programs in development:  we hope to add a History of Lake County show, a middle-school/ high-school Respect for All show done in connection with our local schools, and the return of Shop Talk w/ Forrest Garrett.

All these changes will take some time.
We ask all our listeners and programmers for their patience and understanding during this transition time.

**October 2010 - A potential new music program has been getting its air wings on the last hour of Deb B.'s Savings and Trust in preparation for its own time slot in November(?). This is Underrated Underground with a female host. Sorry, I don't know her name yet but I'm looking forward to the addition of this show. My kind of music.

------------------------------

**June 4, 2010 - A new Saturday night line up: Brent Bomia's Boogie Sessions, "your live music fix," can now be heard 10:00 P.M. - 12:00 midnight, following the return of Eclectic Echoes with Tim Hoff at 8:00 - 10:00 P.M. A replay of Wednesday's Rockin' the Lake ends the broadcast day at 12:00 - 2:00 A.M. Saturday night/ Sunday morning.

Sunday's Reggae Spirit is now hosted by Sir Frederic Rose.

Lost Treasures with "Pop" and "Doc" has retuned to Wednesday, 8:00 - 10:00 P.M.

Bobby Gee and his Salsa Pa Ti have returned to Thursday afternoons.

Rhyshenda's Music of the Night has been discontinued but she can still be heard on Esoterica, late-night Fridays.

------------------------------

**January 21, 2010 - A new Thursday morning show: Women's Voices on-the-air every week at 9:00 A.M. - "A regular program about women's issues."
