On this page I will tell you what webtv is and isn't for those of you that don't know or doesn't understand. First off webtv is NOT A COMPUTER. It is a set top box that sits on your tv. It DOES NOT have a hard drive in that you can't download software like you can with a computer. So it CANNOT get a virus. Webtv is just like netrwork computing. In fact that's what it is. The set top box is just a terminal. That's all. It does not support java. but does support javascript. Whatever you do you have to do online. I mean while you are connected to the webtv network. For those people out there that thinks webtv is just for kids, you better think again. You have to at least 18 before you can sign up for the webtv service as a primary user. Then you can add the kids as a secondary user. And restrict their use of email and chat. For younger kids they have Kid Friendly and for the older one there's Surf Watch. Kid Friendly is for the 5 -11 year old group in which they have their own webtv home page. You can use the free web based emails with webtv. Like Yahoo.com Snap.com Hotmail Mailcity Juno.com Also you can goto Draac.com and get a free email account on there and also return to there to log in and check you email.
