Also be sure to click on the questions link at the top of the page there to see some questions about this here too from msntv.com.
This is from members news, it is a pretty good explanation of what the msn one plan is:

msnoneplan You can find this page here in latest news in help from web home. The link for this page here in latest news is the third link from the top of the latest news page.
This is from the msntv msnoneplan page from latest news here in quotes.
"What is the MSN One Plan?

NOTE: Where it says here to "click here for details". This is NOT a link on my page here. But it is a valid link on the msnoneplan page that you can find from the latest news in help.
Just click on the link on this page here and you will get the msntv promotions page. Now on the promotions page there is TWO different offers.
The first offer there is talking about the msn one plan and as you can see it DOES NOT say that the msn one plan is ending on Jan. 31, 2003. So PLEASE be sure to click on ALL links on the promotions page there and READ EVERYTHIING.
Now the last offer there on the promotions page there is for if you was to buy a NEW MSNTV box, then you can get TWO months FREE. So it is THAT offer there that is ending on Jan. 31, 2003. NOT the msn one plan. This offer here is NOT talking about the msn one plan at ALL.

Now as YOU can SEE here it DOES NOT say that the msn one plan is ending at any tme like some people out there might think.
This is from the msntv promotions page. You can find the msntv promotions page by going to help from web home and click on latest news and click on the third link on the latest news page there and ou will get the msntv msnoneplan page there and click on the link on that page and you will get the msntv promotions page there. The part in quotes here are from the msntv promotions page.

This is my reply to a email that I had got from another webtv(user) about this here.
I just went to the promotions page there.
Now this part here that mentions the offer that expires on Jan. 31, 2003.
The part in quotes here is from the msntv promotions page:
------------------------------------------------------
"Isn't it time your friends and family were online? Give them the gift of a new MSN® TV Internet receiver today and they'll receive two free months of MSN TV service after paid service.
With monthly service starting at only $9.95 for 5 hours of access* and receivers selling for just $99 MSRP*, it's a great time to get connected to the people you love.
Act now, promotion ends Jan. 31, 2003!"
------------------------------------------------------
This offer here is NOT talking about the msn one plan. But a offer where you can buy a new msntv box and get two free months of service. That is the offer that is ending on Jan. 31, 2003.
Again this offer here is NOT talking about the msn one plan at all.
There was a offer back in 2000 when I had got the plus that I have now for Christmas of 2000 where if you get a new webtv box you got 6 months free when you pay for one month. Now that offer here had expired on Dec. 31, 2000.
Now this offer above here is like this other offer here that they was doing back in 2000.
And it does NOT mean that the msn one plan is ending on Jan. 31, 2003, but the offer where you can buy a new msntv box and get two free months of msntv service.
Also this offer here is NOT even talking about msn internet access on a computer.
So this offer here has NOTHING to do with the msn one plan.
You know this offer here is just if you buy a new msntv box and just hook it up and register your new msntv box and sign up for the msntv service and connect to the service directly without using either your own isp and msn internet access and the msn one plan.
One more thing here. Also that offer there about the limited access plan for msntv for $9.95.
You CANNOT use the limited plan(s) with the msn one plan. If you sign up for msn internet access for a computer. You have to get the msn internet access unlimited plan which is $21.95.
So when you call msn you need to tell them that you want the unlimited access plan for $21.95 and then you call 1-800-GOWEBTV and tell them that you want to sign up for the msn one plan. But be sure that you talk to billing at msntv(webtv) to sign up for the msn one plan.
And then with the msn one plan, you are NEVER billed for msntv(webtv) ever again. You are just billed by msn for the msn internet access unlimited plan.
OK on this page I will try and give the plain, simple facts about what the msn one rate plan is and is not. So here is the true lowdown on this here.
If you are a webtv(msntv) user and don't have msn internet access yet. You can signup for msn internet access and choose the msn one rate plan and just pay ONLY $21.95 for both msn and msntv.
I am thinking here that I had seen on the msntv.com site that you could just get one of the msn cds out there and put it in the cd rom drive on your computer
and install the msn software and sign up for msn internet access and choose the unlimited plan and also have a option where you could choose the msn one plan where you can get msn internet access for $21.95 and get msntv for NO extra cost. It's like getting two for one price. So with the msn one plan you can get both msn and msntv for $21.95 a month.
But this info here maybe wrong, because as far as I know you have to call msntv(webtv) at 1-800-GOWEBTV and talk to billing and tell them that you want to sign up for the msn one plan and they can do it for you.
And therefore with this plan here you can get the msntv service for FREE, if you want to think of it like that.
Now you can click here for some detail info about this here:
Info on the msn one rate plan
This is IOMs'(another msntv(webtv) user) help page on the msn one plan. See my disclaimer below here.
DISCLAIMER: This page is NOT mine and I have NO control over it and it is NOT a msn or msntv page and they DO NOT have any control over it either.
But there could be some info on this page I feel like IMO could be confusing for someone that maybe new here and doesn't know that much about this here
But the one that has done this page has done other pages where you they have copied and pasted the msn one rate plan FAQS and therefore has put them on other pages. Also the info in the quotes on the page there are from msntvs' own webpages. And they have done a pretty good job on the pages there. They do provide quite a bit of good info there.
So maybe together with my page here and these other pages maybe it will help to explain a little better about the one rate plan here.
OK what you need to do first here is to call msn at 1-800-386-5550 and follow the prompts there. And tell them that you want to sign up for the msn ulimited internet access. You can also go here to: hotmail.com You can signin there with your msn user name and check your msn.com email from there too. I say this, because if you use hotmail.com and have ever signed in there and clicked on the dropdown list there you probably have noticed that it has two options there. One for hotmail.com and one for msn.com
But if you do have a computer and have a cd rom drive and you have one of those msn cds that you may get in the mail or that you might have picked up in a store somewhere. You can just put that cd rom in your cd rom drive and sign up for the msn unlimited access plan that way. At least I believe that you can also sign up for msn Internet Access this way too. But you DO NOT have to have msn 9 on your computer to connect to and use msn Internet access on your computer.
You will need to call msntv at the number below here and tell them that you want to get the one rate plan there.
At least that is what I have seen somewhere, that you must signup for the msn unlimited access plan there. Because that is the only msn plan that will work with the msntv service. See with the msntv service you get unlimited internet access. And you do have to get on the one rate plan there in order to get your webtv at no extra charge.
OK now once you have signed up for msn internet access there. You will need to call msntv(webtv) at 1-800-GOWEBTV(469-3288). And tell them that you want to get and set up the msn one rate plan there.
OK now msntv(webtv) will give you a power off code that will clear out your ISP settings there, that is if you are using your own ISP(Internet Service Provider) there. Then you need to have them switch you over to billing and billing will confirm that you have cleared your ISP settings there.
With the power off code there. You have to do that power off code there with your webtv box turned off. You just press the options key about 3 times and enter the power off code and you should see the lights on your box flash from right to left. See you do that with you box turned off, that is why it is called a power off code. Then you turn your box back on and you'll see whatever info that a power off code gives you there. Like if you were to enter the power off code to see some tech info about your box or to get your dialing settings.
And then they will have you turn on your webtv box and click connect to msntv directly and you will see a screen that will ask you for your msn user name and password and a couple of the local dialup phone numbers that you have got from them there for msn internet.
Now your msn user name and password there are NOT the same one that you have for msntv(webtv). Now I have seen that you might need to enter your msn user name there as msn/msn-user-name if you have any problems there. And then you will be on the one rate plan there.
Now if you was to goto settings from web home and click dialing you won't see the "use your own isp" there like before. It will say msn settings and you will ONLY be able to change the dialup numbers for msn internet access ONLY. You will not ever be using the "use your own ISP" settings there again. Unless you was to cancal the one rate plan there and maybe you msn internet access account too.
See you DO NOT want to use the "use your own isp" settings there with the one rate plan.
Now you DO need to be sure that you have a local dialup number for msn internet access in your area there.
I DO now have a local dialup number for msn internet access here yet and therefore I DO now since I have MSN INternet Access here. But this info is what I have got from the msntv site at:
msntv.com
And also the info about how to get and set up the one rate plan there on the msntv(webtv) service I got from another msntv(webtv) user that does have it now. And as far as I know all of this info that I have here is correct. If you have any questions about this here. You can just call msntv(webtv) or msn at the above phone numbers.
These three items here are from the msntv troubleshooter tool and I did NOT or have I ever seen where the msn one plan is ending at anytime soon or in Jan. of 2003. So I believe that the info that you may see or hear about that is not true. Also what I have in the quotes here are from the msntv troubleshooter.
Click here for the msntv troubleshooter and after you put in your email address and click forward choose promotions from the list there and click forward and then choose msn one plan and click forward and you will see each of these options there:

Well I still have the email(s) from the webtv(msntv) user that I have emailed with that has told me about how to get and set up the msn one rate plan with the msntv(webtv) service.
