My favorite team -- THE AUBURN TIGERS

My alma mater, Auburn University, is located in Auburn, Alabama, USA, is named from Oliver Goldsmith's poem, "The Deserted Village," and is often referred to from its famous 1st line as "the loveliest village of the plain..." ( a true statement, BTW!) We are "Tigers." Please don't confuse our name (which also comes from a line in Goldsmith's poem), with our mascot (a golden eagle) and our battle cry, the world famous "War Eagle!" Our colors are burnt orange and navy blue, and our uniforms have been selected as the sharpest in the league!
