SPRING CHAPTER MEETING

"SPRING INTO MUSIC!"

SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2005

9:00am - 2:30pm

LOCATION

PINNACLE LUTHERAN CHURCH
250 Pinnacle Road
Rochester, New York 14623

PROGRAM

CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MUSIC

BRUCE ANDERSON from ALPHA and OMEGA Christian Bookstores, will be our featured speaker.

**********************************************

As Christian music becomes more popular and prevalent in society, congregations are beginning to create a demand for music CDs and audiocassettes from their church libraries. However, there are so many styles of music, and so many performers in each style, that it is difficult for most of us to keep up! Mr. Bruce Anderson, owner of the Alpha and Omega Christian Bookstores in Rochester, will speak on contemporary Christian music genres and identify the best performers in each of those genres. In addition to being the owner, he is also the sole buyer of the music CDs and tapes for all three stores. Bruce will share his extensive expertise with us, and provide us with some solid groundwork on how to develop a quality collection of Christian music recordings on limited budgets.

NUTSHELL BOOK REVIEWS

~~~~ OUR CHAPTER ~~~~
The WNY Chapter is one of many chapters and affiliates of the Church and Synagogue Library Association. It was formed in 1989 and promotes church and synagogue librarianship on an ecumenical basis in the western New York area. It encompasses 11 counties, including both the Buffalo and Rochester metropolitan areas.
Chapter meetings are held twice a year in May and October alternating locations among the members' churches or synagogues.
Programs at these meetings consist of workshops on a variety of topics, presentations by authors, book reviews, sharing of ideas, vendor displays and discounts on new and recommended items.
Guests are always welcome at these meetings for learning, fellowship, and inspiration. Call one of the local contacts for information.
