THE NABASERA NAKED PHOTOGRAPHS:
›››››››››Naked, not 'nude'›››››››››
Nude - implies without certain clothing
(a sort of 'sneak-a-peek')
Naked - means with everything taken off
(a total 'letting-it-all-hang-out!')
More than 100 Original Photos (B&W and Color).
Besides being an over and above historical, visionary, sociological documentation of the Sexual Revolution Era (from 1968 thru the Seventies until 1981)...
These photos are an Up-Close, Intimate, Private View.
Photography (reality faithfully reproduced) is the Most Poignat Narrative, Accurate Storytelling, Picturesque Living Proof...combining a feeling of permanence with immediacy.
Nothing beats the Snapshots of a Firsthand 'Insiders' Account Who Lived the Experience.
There is an extraordinary, personal story with each girl and her photos...a narrative of how she was initially approached, enticed to participate, and willingly expressed-exposed-expounded her sexuality. How she felt 'during the shoot' is keenly obvious.

THE SEXUAL REVOLUTION (1968-1981)
(The Last Good Time Had By All):
The Seventies De Javu All Over Again Ad Infinitum -
'Swingtown' A one-hour 13 episodes series on CBS-TV.
---see RIGHT ON!!!, bottom of commentary...
The culture of the Seventies turned not on the collective but on the individual (the "Me" Decade). The sexual variant on this theme was the idea that social and sexual repression were integrally linked. Therefore persons sought collective transformation through individual liberation.
Political Independence was the hoot & the howl of the Radical/Rebellious 1960's...
Sexual License was the throb & the thrill of the Swinging/Sensual 1970's.
'Peaceniks' became 'Hedonistics'!
People went from being seen as 'promiscuous & indulgent' to being seen as 'uninhibited & released'.
The '70's were the culmination of the '60's hitting home.
The uprising idealism of the sixties gave way to the individual expression of the seventies.
Everyone was set loose...Liberation was where it was at...along with Whatever Turns You On.
If the sixties were the end of conformity - the seventies were the end of normalcy. Everything you had been taught suddenly became bullmanure, all changed to "be it right, be it wrong" plus "diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks."
Gays, Blacks, Women('the weaker sex') decided to take seriously all that stuff about The Pursuit Of Happiness.
Permission was given to have sex not only for by-the-book honorable procreation but for all-out hedonistic recreation.
It was the Age of Humpty-Dumptys: After you humped your partner, you dumped your partner...gallavanting on to 'fall in lust' with your next Humpty-Dumpty.
It was an especially auspicious time to have genitals - when the worst thing you could catch you could cure with a shot.
Gals went from saying "Good Girls Don't!" to "Can I Cum First?"
Guys went from saying "I Love You - Let's Get Married!" to "I Dig You - Let's Go Screw!"
One of the more striking aspects of this collection is the way it transports viewers back to a time which turned Absolute 'No-No's' into Freed-Up 'Do Your Own Thing!'
The 70's was when 'anonymous' sex became highly conspicuous...
Most Successful Come-On Line:
"A Little Coitus
Won't Hurt Us!"
The Seventies began with 1970's most popular book: Dr. David Ruben's 'Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex...but Were Afraid to Ask'
A necessary & relevant commentary about the political landscape at the time ---
The main thing about the politics of the 70's is that Vietnam, civil disobedience, Kent State, the gas shortage, Watergate, the impeachment threat, Nixon's resignation, the pardon, plus many other shenanagins resulted in no dominant political tendency or ideology. All that calamity was marked not by a change in political winds so much as by disillusionment and a mish-mash of political categories.
Anti-establishment really & truly set in. Liberals scrambled away. Conservatives scrammed away. Voters became cynical about politics itself. The pendulum swung not only from right to left but from politics to anti-politics. But lo & behold, Jimmy Carter, who pulled himself out of a hat as a peanut farmer to President, promised a squeky-clean break from the 'normal methods' of political life...and, about sex, confessed that he "lusted in his heart."

THE BABES IN THE SNAPSHOTS:
Nubile, Nymphet-like--->
Sexuality-Seeping-Out-Of-Every-Pore
<---Beauties.
Young, Delicious-looking, Smoldering Defiant Provocatours...
coquettish, tender, impetuous, evocative, yearning, ebullient, tantalizing, seductive, incandescent, pristine, winsome, fetching and fearless...etcetera-indefinetely.
The girls are not paid models...they're prettier & sexier. Most were lovely strangers ripe with possibilities,
met ('picked up' - The TV 'Pick Up Artist' on vh1 could take lessons) for the first time on the street(usually Chestnut, Walnut, or nearby in Center City Philadelphia)
while they were going their way somewhere, usually in the afternoon.
Each & every girl was totally agreeable, unblushing, and proud as a peacock to be photographed. Therefore the photos exude the rare ability of the subjects to relax in front of the camera so that they are more natural and less intentionally posing. One knows that the pictures are performances, and yet they still feel spontaneous.
This was in the midst of a dynamic era. The location is the big city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (population: two million at the time) yet it could have been virtually anywhere in the entire U.S.A., rural as well as metropolitan.
It's a Philly-city story, but moreover it's an American story about the most splendiferous social revolution that ever happened - The Sexual Revolution.
"Even the most stylized, setup photograph is going to give you something."
- Annie Liebovitz, American Masters, 2007

THE ARTWORK:
Numerous, Diverse, Eclectic, Tasteful...Revolutionary.
Specifically Two In One: The photos are as much a projection of the sexual revolution as the sexual revolution was a reflection of the photos.
"Photographs are locked in an eternal present, where something is always about to happen. Appearing at the intersection of image and speech, photographs present the paradox of things appearing while disappearing, apprehended just in time --- in time to expire into new life."
- Alan Trachtenberg, 'Lincoln's Smile and Other Enigmas'

MY PHOTOGRAPHER'S STATEMENT:
I didn't know it then, but taking these photos was my way of Tricking the Passage of Time and establishing an autobiographical relationship to an Extravagant Period.
I was not a schooled photographer with a professional camera yet the pictures are exquisite, a joy to stare at, mesmeric for the eyes, a thrill to the senses, and a feast for the imagination.
I attentively used the aim-center-focus(not the simplistic digital 'point & shoot'), click, and snap technique with an all-seeing eye
on the Pulchritude right in front of me.
The more interest you have in the subject you photograph the better the photo.
Once the picture was taken, the image would be final...in the same way that Cartier-Bresson's photographs are always ''the full-frame negative''...no alterations in the darkroom, no cutting or cropping, no spotting...
And no 'Photoshopping Reality' editing! Automated tools make it possible to tweak a picture, delete unwanted items or even combine the best features of several similar pictures into one. Digital manipulation is simply morphing imagery (tableau-making) and takes away from bona fide photographic credibility.
The term 'naked' as opposed to 'nude' is used deliberately and substantially.
The latter denotes artifice, whereas the former signifies authenticity.
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
MY PHOTOGRAPHER EXPERIENCE:
No medium of expression gets to the heart of things - or the real human heart - with such immediacy and power as Photography. Words take longer to inform, amuse or arouse. But in an instant the photograph penetrates. And Photography is a language that speaks to everyone.
Life is continually passing away - Photography has the ability not only to capture a moment in time but, more importantly, to hold on to it and keep it alive. The image retains within itself the preserve to evoke again and again emotions of the original moment. Even with posed subjects a picture can convey the illusion of unguarded movement in the present.
Sex appeal is fleeting. The young get older, grayer, unshapely, and live on trying to hold unto some way of being desired. With the help of a composing eye and the stoppage of time, sex appeal can last forever.
For me, Photography transcends cinema.
A great photograph encapsulates a whole movie in a single picture.
Many photos are in Black & White. Color can be very pleasing, but it can also distract from the subject. With B&W, your focus hastens to the star of the show in the photo, as if living and breathing. B&W also appears historical in its look and archival in its preservation. 1/8th of a second to take.
§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
MY PHOTO-POETIC-LICENSE:
Though I am aware that some fuddy-duddys/hoity-toities will raise eyebrows, I use the terms 'babes' - 'girls' - 'young' as opposed to 'women' or 'females' ...meaningfully and without qualms, if not politically-correct-cautiously.
Being also a writer & poet, I rely on the word best evoking the subjects in the photos and my artistic/aesthetic
endeavor.

RIGHT ON!!! -
Right on merely its premiere, 'Swingtown' viewers are treated to: a menage a trios; a high school junior smoking pot and flirting with her English teacher; the flagrant enjoyment of quaaludes and cocaine; and the neighborhood scold unwittingly stumbling upon a groaning and slithering orgy where a middle-aged participant, clad only in mutton chops, says hello - "Why don't you kick your shoes off, Mom, and join the party?"...
