The SCRIPT METHOD

Ctpaso's <script></script> FIX (aka "Bunny's Way") is the easiest way to add your own background to Pagebuilder... it doesn't work on webbie browsers below 2.7, but it does work on all major PC browsers. It also doesn't allow you to use "bgcolor" in the BODY tag, only background images can be used.

To change your bgcolor, font, link, and vlink colors with this method you can use javascript with it. See Ctpaso's demo page [HERE].

You can begin your SCRIPT FIX when creating a page from scratch by first choosing a template background (any will do since it won't show later), and then give your page a short title (lower-case is best with no punctuation...and, one word is preferable.) See my "Basics" tutorial for properly setting your page's URL.

WARNING #2 When you initially publish your page you will then see this check-box below your Title-box:

Show this title on your page

NEVER check the "Show title on page" box! (On ANY page - really bad things will happen if you do :-)   Make certain that it's UN-CHECKED and looks exactly like this before you publish your page:

Show this title on your page

(*NOTE: If this SCRIPT Fix is to a previously published page, then you can skip the above part and add the SCRIPT Fix to your existing page by following the simple directions below):

THE SCRIPT FIX:

Simply add these script tags: <script></script> and then your <BODY> tag to the very first add-text box on your page:

  Add text to your document

   Type a title (optional):

   Type your text here:

Text size:  Small
MediumLarge

Text style: Plain  Bold    Italic
        Item 1 (of 4)

After your webpage is published and its URL is set with the one word title, you can return to your Title-box by choosing "Edit title" and then erase the short title and add a fuller title which will appear in your status-bar window.

This is what the "Title-box" looks like - I had originally named my webpage simply "forms" (to keep my Url short), so after my page is published I would delete "forms" and add a fuller title:

Title for your page

The title appears at the top of your page (if you
chose to show it) as well as in the list of your pages.

  Type your page's title:

Show this title on your page

After you add the a fuller title to your Title-box, then publish your page again, and that's it! You should now see your background!

Continue to edit your page normally after you have applied the SCRIPT FIX to it, but it's always best to place your entire page's content into the one add-text box below your added <BODY> tag.

After any pagebreaks, simply add the SCRIPT FIX and your
<BODY> tag to the very first add-text box on your next page.

To change your font, link, and vlink colors with this method you can use javascript with it.

Go here to see a graphic demonstration how the added SCRIPT FIX relates to Pagebuilder's hidden template tags.

Title and description for your page

The title appears at the top of your page, if you've chosen to show it. The title and description appear in the list of your pages.

  Type your page's title:

  Type your page's description:

Include this page in your public list of pages

This is what the "Title-box" looks like when you access it from your Pagebuilder's index list of pages...when you access the Title-box this way, instead of the "Show title on page" check-box, you have the Description-box & the Public-list check-box.

Click [HERE] to see how the Title-box looks when it's instead accessed from Pagebuilder's sidebar link.

Below is the HTML for a typical Pagebuilder webpage. The tags which are highlighted YELLOW are the hidden template tags which MsnTv automatically adds to each webpage for you.

The words and tags which are highlighted BLUE are those which can be added by you via one of PB's various data-entry boxes. Next to each blue area are numbered links which will take you to Pagebuilder's corresponding data-entry box where it was actualy entered.

The tags which are highlighted ORANGE and underlined are the template tags, which the <script></script> tags have effectively cancelled out (sorry old Classic users...you will just see the underlined tags and not the highlighted colors [Click here] for a Classic version)
