NEW!  I have added a link to my Color List to help choose font colors.

NEW!  I have redesigned my image tool. It is easy and fast to get original dimensions of images and to resize to get the new dimensions needed AUTOMATICALLY.

NEW!  I have added my Recent History Tool also so you can view your previously visited URLs.

NEW!  I have added 3 new font features-Font Style, Font Effect and Font Size.

NEW!  I have added COOKIES to "SAVE" your image/photo URLs. There is a seperate cookie at each step so you can save your urls at each point independent of the others.

Please note: I have made this site with my classic unit at version 2.5.5IM and all features on this site, in particular the cookies, work for me. Webtv has had problems with cookies though recently.
11/04/01-Just got an RCA webtv plus unit and am now on 2.7 and everything is working.
If 'you' experience problems, most likely from webtv glitches etc, then let me know and I'll see what I can do to apply a fix.

Troubleshooting:  If 'EVERYTHING' stops working on this site then it is either the javascript load bug and you will see the indicator at the top of the page and you simply reload. Or it means your cache is full and the page isn't loading fully. This site is javascipt heavy and won't work correctly if it doesn't load 'completely'. You can simply clear your cache by powering off then on, (just switching users doesn't clear it as well).
Here are some other Suggestions for the PAGE TOO BIG PROBLEM, in general, not just for this site.
-Turn Off MSN Messenger in All Users
-Turn Off Web Tv Background Music in All Users
-Massive Clean Up in Mail Room on RECEIVED, SENT, SAVED, AND DISCARDED
-Massive Clean Up in Favorites -- DUMP What you can and RENAME the remainder so Text Shows on Names instead of Logos
-Massive Clean up on Page Builder and Scrapbook -- Images that are Kept should be OPTIMIZED.

This is a common problem with webtv classic units, but do not despair...it can be rectified.

A NOTE: If you continue to experience this problem and can not get it to work with the above fixes, please let me know and perhaps I will have to trim the script if it happens to too many people.

This site is designed for use with either
  • Webtv Pagebuilder Scrapbook photographs (with dimensions of 384 Width X 256 Height), with or without a text message.
  • Photos and all other images of different dimensions than 384x256 with or without a text message.

Using with Scrapbook photos (with 384Wx256H), with or without a text message.- This is designed for Scrapbook photos with 384 width x 256 height. This is what you have after putting photos online at Kodak Photonet Online.Using your own photos you can "personalize" your cards. You will not have to "Flip" your photographs. Any resizing, ie for smaller photo for 2 fold card, will be done automatically for you. Just follow the instructions here-

Using with photos and all other images of different dimensions than 384x256,with or without a text message.-You can also use photos or any other image of different dimensions than 384x256 instead of a Scrapbook photograph. You will not have to "Flip" them either. Just follow the instructions here-

There is a 2 fold card version and a 1 fold card version.

On the 2 fold card, you can put both an image and a text message of your choosing on pages 1, 2, and 3.

On the 1 fold card, you can put both an image and text message on pages 1 and 3.

Just follow the steps and the instructions in the "status bar" as you go.

Printing Options Settings- Leave all the "Printing Options" unchecked.

Please Note: Things to check if your photo doesn't appear on the screen.

1-Remember to 'check' the checkbox where required for selections.

2- When viewing the page to be printed "on screen" the photo will appear in the bottom half of the page. You will not see it unless you scroll down a bit.

3- Linking to Pagebuilder images sometimes works better if you remove the dash and number after 'community',ie http://community-2.webtv.net/... changed to http://community.webtv.net/....

4- Linking to Pagebuilder images sometimes require that you 'view' the webpage that the photo/image is on before it can be linked to. This happens to me often. This is a Pagebuilder flaw. It just means that you have to view that page before you try to link to it for your card.

5-LINKING AND URL HELP- Very helpful sites by very talented people.

6-If you are having trouble please email me and i will gladly help.

One last note, if you wait a few seconds for this page to load upon initial entry and also upon reentry after printing pages, then the navigation is smoother.

Thank You,

Keith

Card Pages Illustration

Please Note: This is as per HP697c printer. Other brands may feed differently. If so, lay out paper so page 3 will print and come off printer exactly like page 1 did. With a 'straight feed' printer such as some Canons, I believe you have to rotate the paper 180 degrees instead of flipping.

Photo/Image Instruction

3 methods of operation:

  1. Using Webtv Scrapbook Photograph, (with dimensions 384 Width x 256 Height), With or without a text message also.:
If you use a Scrapbook photograph, (with dimensions 384 Width x 256 Height), with or without a text message also then just 'check' the box for adding a photo or image and enter the URL and thats it. Leave the dimension boxes as is. You can use the new Image Tool to verify the original dimensions.

  2. Using any photo or image with different dimensions than 384W X 256H,With a text message also.:
If you use a photo or an image with different dimensions other than 384x256 with a text message also then you must enter its dimensions , staying within the limits. Use the new Image Tool to get the original dimensions. If the dimensions are within the maximum limits then use those original dimensions and don't resize. If the dimensions exceed those for the type of card you are making then use the new Image Tool to automatically resize the image and give you the new dimensions to use. Just click on the button that says resize for card with text. You can also do it manually if you want using this formula.

  3. Using any photo or image with different dimensions than 384W X 256H,Without a text message also.:
If you use a photo or an image with different dimensions other than 384x256 wthout a text message also then you must enter its dimensions, staying within the limits. Use the new Image Tool to get the original dimensions. If the dimensions are within the maximum limits then use those original dimensions and don't resize. If the dimensions exceed those for the type of card you are making then use the new Image Tool to automatically resize the image and give you the new dimensions to use. Just click on the button that says resize for card without text. You can also do it manually if you want using this formula.

You may try using an "oversized" photo or image if you want, but it may screw up the card arrangement. If it does then you can always resize as per the formula above.

A tip that I find helpful when working with multiple image URLs is to copy and paste all the URLs in your sig box, one at a time as you get them, for temporary storage. Then copy them from the sig box, together, and paste them all into each URL entry box. Delete the ones that you do not want in each box.

Thank You

These are instructions for manually resizing your images if you desire. The new Image Tool, (below), will give you the original dimensions of your image. The new Image Tool will also resize any image of any size "automatically", for you, to fit into the alloted spaces, if you don't want to do all this.

Formula for resizing a 2 fold card WITH a text message.

  • If original width is greater than the original height X 1.5 then the new width=250 and the new height= (original height X 250 divided by the original width).
  • If original width is not greater than the original height X 1.5 then the new width= (original width X 167 divided by the original height) and the new height=167.
Formula for resizing a 2 fold card WITHOUT a text message.

  • If original width is greater than the original height X .84 then the new width=250 and the new height= (original height X 250 divided by the original width).
  • If original width is not greater than the original height X .84 then the new width= (original width X 300 divided by the original height) and the new height=300.
Formula for resizing a 1 fold card WITH a text message.

  • If original width is greater than the original height X 1.50 then the new width=384 and the new height is (original height X 384 divided by the original width.
  • If original width is greater than the original height X 1.50 then the new width= (original width X 256 divided by the original height) and the new height=256.
Formula for resizing a 1 fold card WITHOUT a text message

  • If original width is greater than the original height X 1.67 then the new width=500 and the new height is (original height X 500 divided by the original width.
  • If original width is greater than the original height X 1.67 then the new width= (original width X 300 divided by the original height) and the new height=300.
If you need to find the dimensions of the photo or image to start with then use my Image Sizer below. This will give you the dimensions and you can resize using my new formula.
