Since I was just a youngster staring out the classroom window when trains stopped rolling past the real depot at Harlowton, Montana, I never had a chance to see them. So now that I am a so-called adult, what do I do with my spare time ? You guessed it, I try to create in minitiature that which I never saw in real life. The photos on this page are MY idea of what would have been a VERY interesting morning of trainwatching "down at the depot". |
First train of the morning |
| Well, to start things off, we have Little Joe E-72 pulling up to the depot, probably waiting for a crew member or something. This Joe will soon depart Harlow with a westbound train. I'm not sure how the Joe will be able to move without catenary supplying 3000+ volts to it's pantograph and traction motors. |
The Rest Of The Story |
| OK, now I see how the Joe was able to move, SD-7 #522 is giving it a gentle shove. |
Third Movement. |
| I never did find out where the Joe went , but several minutes later, #522 came east again and started to assemble a train for Lewistown and the rest of the north Montana line. |
Here come "da boss" |
| Boy, was I surprised to see this train show up. It must have been the president or someone REAL important in that squeaky clean business car. I can remember thinking that this train looked so out of place on the balck and orange Milwaukee. |
Back To Normal |
| Now this is more like the Milwaukee. I don't know what train ths was, but it was getting ready to go east when I cought up to it. It's motive power was SD 40-2 #19, GP 30 #1009 and an unidentified third unit. |
