Lane's single "Thats Where Love Comes In" went to the top of the Powersource Playlist. They are known for breaking inspirational efforts such as Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and Josh Turner.
Bob was recently in the studio in Nashville to finish his upcoming CD. Lane came by to say hello and Bob gave her a copy of a song she recorded with him. The song was "To Much of Nothin" written by Bob Dylan. Bob had Lane sing the chorus lines with him. What made it even more special for Lane is that the musicians on the track were his Silver Bullet Band.

Lane has just finished a new video with Australia's leading producer of country videos, Ross Wood (pictured with Lane and makeup artist, Leah). Being from Australia himself, Jeff Walker of Aristo Media (Lane's publicist) knew of Ross's work and recommended he come to America to shoot the video. There are two videos, one being her soon to be released single (April, 2006), "That's Where Love Comes In". The other video, "Even More" will be the second released video. The video/single has been uploaded on Lane's site. If you have Quicktime, you can view the video. Being it is on her site, there is no space taken up on your computer or need to download but it necessary, please give the movie time to load before you start. To go to the page (Click Here)

There was a memorial for Officer Christy Dedman who was struck and killed in July of 2004 while aiding a motorist on the side of the interstate. Officer John Knowles, a good friend of Lane's, knew of her song "All The Unsung Heroes", and asked if she would perform it at the dedication. Lane also met with the Dedman family, and with all of Christy's fellow officers. Lane's has the utmost respect for all the officers that serve us daily. Lane says that "they are all Unsung Heroes". If you ask any given one, they will say they are just doing their job, but to Lane they are putting their lives in front of ours to protect us. For Christy and all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Lane says "Their Memory Will Be Eternal". Lane asks all of us to pray daily for the safety of all those in public service who serve and put their lives in harms way to protect us and may God Bless them all.
"It is not how these officers died that made them heroes but rather how they lived"
Vince Gill made a moving comment during his performance. He said he doesn't know a lot about some of the charities that he performs for, but he does know the poeple who ask for his help. He said he loves Lane and that was why he was there.
Thank you to all who supported again this year. The theater was filled to capacity!
Special thanks to the sponsors: Gibson, Wild Oats, The Nashville Sounds, Neil Sandler Automotive Group and Aristo Media.

Lane as in years past attended and performed at the opening ceremonies of Operation Stand Down. The organization brings in homeless verterans and gives them 3 days of shelter at the National Guard Armory. During the 3 days they receive all types of counseling to help them with their individual needs. Every year some find out that they were due compensation for their service to our country. During the year OSDN works with the veterans and with the commmuntiy work place to find jobs for the vets. Lane and Eddie will be joining them in a fund raising campaign to help build revenue to continue the cause throughout the year. Lane sang her songs, "Thanks For What You Did" and "All the Unsung Heroes".
Bill Burleigh, Executive Director of OSDN, believes the approach his organization takes can be easily replicated in other communities. He states that building relationships in the community is key to the program's success. Once employers have embraced the value of hiring program clients, the veterans they hire typically become model employees. The word quickly spreads, with the help of OSDN staff, and participation by other employers increases.

Lane and Eddie are always in support of our military putting together shows to entertain our troops and their families, and this concert was no exception. When Lane and Eddie asked George to come, he mentioned that it was in the middle of his tour, but that he would work it out if Eddie would put together his recording band, which was done and needless to say, incredible. Also performing were, Vince Gill, Richard Marx, Dobie Gray and Collin Raye. In the picture, Lane and George Strait before the beginning of The Welcome Home Concert for the Troops at Ft. Campbell. It is the largest they have ever had in their history, in fact, MWR at Ft. Campbell told us it is the most successful MWR event worldwide. Lane debuted her new song, "Thanks For What You Did" and before she could finish, the 50,000 plus crowd were on their feet cheering. To see CMT's Insider slideshow pics of the concert
(Click Here) To see CMT's coverage of the concert (Click Here) . Lane was given a plaque, as were the other artists, making her an honorary member of the 101st Airborne!
It was another great year, and Lane performed to the loyal fans who were there in spite of the rain.
The week went great with long lines at Lane's booth. She did a great 30 minute interview with XM Radio as well as an on camera interview with Bill Cody of GAC (Great American Country Television Network).
CMT'S 100 GREATEST DUETS AND CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL
CMT is having another 100 Greatest Special, and this time it's, DUETS. Of course, Lane's Yellow Rose of Texas with Johnny Lee is one of them. Lane will be filming an interview to talk about the song and how it came to be the duet. It will be interesting for those who do not know the history. The concert portion of the special will be at the Gaylord Entertainment Center on June 8th. |

At Ft. Campbell, Lane along with artists, Darrell Worley, Mark Wills and Jaci Velasquez, joined President Bush and our First Lady Laura Bush to thank the 101st Airborne for there service in Iraq and to welcome them home. Lane sang the Yellow Rose, All The Unsung Heroes and closed with a medley of Amazing Grace and America the Beautiful. One thing was made clear, and that was this was NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT but only to perform and thank our military. During his speech, the President thanked Lane and the others for coming and performing for our troops. After the President spoke he and our First Lady took a moment with Lane and the other entertainers.
Lane will also be co-hosting the official welcome home on June 19th during the Week of the Eagles. She will also be performing at the CMA Country Music Festival( Fan Fair) in June.

Lane stands
before 12,000 military personnel and their families at Ft.Campbell after talking to some of our troops in Afghanistan by special hookup from the base. She then performed "All The Unsung Heroes" to open the show.
It was a great moment when Lane went with General Cody to take pictures with him and his Honor Guard in front of the General's Flags that represent every war/conflict the 101st has participated in. She was awarded the Medal for Excellence by the General for all of her work in putting together the concert. He later told us, that is was the largest concert they have ever had.
Lane brought up some of the children of Ft. Campbell to sing with her on her song, "All Shall Be Well". Can you believe the crowd? What a wonderful night it was for our brave men and women of the 101st Airborne and their families.
