Salesman's sample case from the early part of the twentieth century. It contains some packaged products of the Walter Baker Chocolate Company. Post's Bran Chocolate, Farmington Chocolate, Bakers Caracas Chocolate, packaged tablets and a chocolate bar are shown. This is a most unusual item. Note that the Post's Bran Chocolate does not show the chocolate lady, the reg. trademark of the company.
This is a pencil sharpener two inches in height and made of white metal. It is painted red, white and blue. It is in the form of the Walter Baker Company registered trademark. It is marked on the back: "BAKER CHOCOLATE GIRL" and "Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." This is a popular premium and desirable in good condition. It should be noted that this item comes in two sizes, i.e., 2"H x 2/3"W (the one usually seen) and another 2 1/8"H x 1"W. I have seen only one of the latter which was undoubtedly made in a different mold.
This is an aluminum circular container for Walter Baker's vanilla chocolate. It shows the chocolate lady, the trademark of the company. Collectors like this to be in mint condition.
This is a 9 inch jar with the Chocolate Lady and the word BAKER'S stenciled in yellow. The same jar also comes with white stenciling This was a jar used in stores to hold pieces of chocolate. It is a nice, usable Baker collectible.
White and orange colored cup and saucer showing the Chocolate Lady. On the botton it says: "Made in England for Walter Baker & Co., Boston" There is a similar cup which has, inside the top rim, the words: "No Chemicals". This variation is uncommon. These were premium-type items.
