............FROM EARTH TO ETERNITY................ Wow, I think the meaning of life would take a book to explain but I will strive to meet the need of those who are wondering just what they are living for! I, myself, have asked that question. "Why am I still here, Lord?" What purpose am I serving? When life goes haywired and our insides are twisted in tiny knots from the whirlwinds that life sends our way, that question is so valid and it cries out for an answer from those who have no known purpose in life at the time and only darkness seems to cloud the horizon instead of sunshine with it's promises of light and warmth. The havoc of some lives is often credited to Satan. But Satan didn't bring sin into this world we know. The people God created to tend the garden and live in love, peace, and contentment did. The woman God created for Adam listened to the deceitful words of Satan and because they sounded good and right, Eve did what God had forbade them to do when He placed them in the Garden of Eden. She ate of the fruit of the tree that was forbidden.. and when she offered it to Adam (because it was good) he ate of it, too. The ONLY thing that God has asked of them not to do, they did! God cursed the serpent through which Satan spoke. He told the woman that from then on He would multiply her sorrows and in pain would she bring forth children. To Adam, God said because he had eaten of the forbidden fruit given to him by Eve, that the ground would be cursed and in short, he would have to toil and sweat to bring forth what they needed to eat. They were cast from the garden and Satan has been hell bent on destroying God's Love and Creation every since! When I say Hell bent, I mean just that because Hell is Satan's ultinate destination when the Lord returns as Lord of Lords and Kings of Kings on Mt Zion in the Holy City of Jeruselum!! Jesus WILL return to keep mankind from destroying themselves and the whole earth! God created man so that He would have someone to fellowship with..someone to love and be loved by. And that, in essense, is the true meaning of life; to have an abiding relationship with God the Creator. Spiritually, the meaning of life is to love. Even in secularism, what is life without love? Love is so important to us because God IS love! He can be angry, too....but that isn't a conflict at all. When something goes wrong in one's life, whether as a child or adult, and love seems absent from everything we feel, then we ask: What is The Meaning of Life? Why am I here? Everything that is going on in our lives and in our World has been going on since the beginning of God's Creation. Everything from murder to grief and sorrow; all things good and bad! God's word tells us there is nothing "new" under the sun! Pick any vice or thing..not new! Life is a pilgrimage we all have to make. Some for a brief journey and others for many years. And behind every crook and cranny of that journey from birth to the grave, the demons of Satan are ready to attack us as soon as the opportunity is made available to them. To some, life is a hopeless shadow and many will tell you that they have already spent their time in Hell here on Earth. I've said it myself. WHY? God devised a way to make life easier for us and to give us Hope in that endless journey from birth to the grave. In His All Powering Being, he sent HIS son to be born of a virgin and this Son would be the answer to all of our problems, our Hope, our Salvation, and our ticket to Eternal Life on a Heavenly Planet that no human words could describe. He doesn't promise us that life will be EASY or that we will have no cross to bear. But for every problem or thing in our life, HE is there! HE is what makes the burden of life easier! Life is but a flickering of time. We are born; we grow older and old; and then we die. Now, where is there any possible meaning of the purpose of life in that? Nothing that we could work for or hope for will last. The question becomes a sensible question for many.. "What is the meaning of Life?" We know that God is the source of life as described as "living". We know that He created "people" so that He could have someone to fellowship with...someone much like Him...He had the Angels, but they were created to worship Him...so He made man in His own image..and He gave Man and Woman the freedom of will... They would not be puppets following His want list. They were created with Free Will...because God wanted man kind to LOVE Him because they wanted to, not because He mandated it. Because of that free will, sin was brought into the world by Adam and Eve and thus Satan has had his reign here on earth to destroy mankind ever since. Satan's ultimate goal is to destroy as many of our lives that he can and to steal as many souls that he can steal. WHY? Because Satan is in competition with God to be the Supreme Being and is determined to undo anything peaceful or good in our lives. He is now fighting a battle with God's Son, Jesus, over each and everyone of us as to who will get our souls. And he will deliver anything and everything available to him to make our lives miserable and worthless in our own eyes. He cannot take the soul of those who are saved, but he can make life a living hell for them if the person gives him an edgeway into their mind or heart. Now you're asking where did Satan come from? Is he a god also? NO...Satan was God's most beautiful creation of the Angels. God made him just a bit better in all ways...intelligence, beauty, a flare for speech...but something happened.. He wasn't satisfied with who and what he was.. He wanted to be God! He wanted to be worshiped because of his beauty and greatness. He wanted the love and worship that God had. He wanted to control and be in charge. Aw, he was such a marvelous creation! More marvelous than all of the other angels! It went to his head. PRIDE....THAT destroyed Satan..A third of the Angels followed Satan and God created a place called Hell so that one day they would be cast there. Sinful mankind will now join them ..but that really is another subject in itself..Pride has destroyed many a nation and many a person. Jesus Christ is our Reason for Living!. Without him, we are nothing. With Him, we can do all things because He gives us strength..He is our eternal life, the life that Adam and Eve gave up when they sinned. HE is our Hope. Without Him, any hope we have in anything is meritless. He is our Bread of Life...We feed our very being with the bread of His being; His Word, Hopes, Promises; Instruction; Peace; Comfort; Joy; Comforter; Intercessor to God; Redeemer; Jesus is our Example through hardships, trials, temptations, and sorrows; He is our pathway in life and although it is a very narrow path we follow, He is always there with outstetched arms to help us find our way back onto the path when we stumble and fall and end up on the wide avenue that leads to death and destruction. That narrow path leads us through the valleys of death where we need fear no evil, for He is there with us; He annoints our souls with His Love when we open up our life to Him. He kisses the tears from our cheeks in our sadness. In His still small voice He tells us He understands and He is there. He heals our wounds when crowns of thorns are slammed onto our heads; and when life cringes at the lashes of life's flaws and cruelties that befall us. He reaches out with His nail scared hands and caresses our aching hearts and soul and invites us to rest our weary head upon the jagged scar of his side where His blood flowed to wash our sins as white as snow. He stands patiently in the background, never asserting Himself into our life unless He is invited. We see Him one day and there He is, with arms outstretched and His love outshines all shadows of dispair. Too often, even we who claim to love Him, keep Him at arms length while He waits with broken heart for us to let Him enter back into our life and restore the Joy of Salvation that He so freely gave Himself for. He points us to a Heavenly Father who greets our living soul when we pass from this earth into eternity. He won the Victory over Death and Satan for all who believe on Him.. There is no death for us! Our souls are eternal and because of Jesus, everything we are...our character, our kindness, our every attribute lives on!! Our bodies are buried and lie in death's sleep until they are ressurected to unite with that eternal soul within us that couldn't be killed or buried. For a sad note; the unbeliever's soul also lives on. THAT is our likeness to God!! God is a Spirit and so are we! Our bodies are just a house for our inner self to abide in. For the unbeliever, of which there are many and many who have been led astray by false teachings encouraged by Satan...for them, there IS a Hell. From which there is no return or second chance of redemption. In due time, they will die a second death. I mention this because it might be difficult for some to understand what I have written here. I thought I would come up with a different meaning for life...and maybe one day I will.. but tonight, HE IS MY REASON FOR LIVING; JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, IS THE TOTAL ESSENSE OF THE MEANING OF LIFE! If you are not living for Jesus, there is a void in your heart that nothing will ever fill. If you don't know Him as your Saviour, please don't wait too long. Tomorrow could be too late. There are many out there who will take the time to care. If you think you are unworthy of God's love and Salvation, that is Satan speaking to you! To God, NO one is unworthy to come to the Cross of Jesus and invite Him into their life. We have ALL sinned and fallen short of God's expectations and glory! That is why God gave His son to die for us as an atonement for our sins. The penalty for sin since Adam and Eve is death. BUT Jesus paid that price for you and me upon that wooden cross with nails driven through His wrists and feet (to hold him there)! He died that WE might LIVE..and have eternal life with Him on earth and in Heaven. When we accept Jesus as our Saviour, the penalty for our sin is marked PAID IN FULL!!
