O starry night that brought our Savior to the earth, I bless you! Help us to keep vigil and welcome anew the Baby Jesus into our hearts this holy night.

On one cold dark night the sound of a newborn's cries broke the silence. The stars were witness to the child's entrance into the world. But this was no mere baby boy. He was creator of those stars and in fact all of the universe. And now, creator has allowed himself to enter into the material world; stepping into space and time to be subject to that space and time. To take on our flesh and be born of a woman--living, growing, eating, sleeping, walking among us, working, sweating, laughing, crying, loving, dying--just like us. Angels descending from heaven announce to nearby shepherds the birth of Emmanuel, GOD is with us! "You will find the BABE wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." Despite His humble birth, HE is KING! HIS NAME is JESUS and HE will save HIS people!
