Part 1: Prologue

Jack slowly packed up. It hadn't worked out. His boss had fired him. But, on the plus side, some old geezer that he had gotten in good with had died. And since Jack had sucked up to the old *******, Jack got his farm. With that in mind, he packed up and headed for this place called "Mineral Town".

On the road Jack thought about what happened in the last town, and what mistakes he had made. He probably should never have gotten hitched with the daughter of the boss. Lousy *****. She married him, she bore one of his children, then she divorced and took half of his large sum of money and lived in one of those million-dollar-per-night suites. Then his dad took all his money because he "couldn't be trusted". And it was all a scam. But he musn't think this way of these "Friends of Mineral Town".

He slowly trudged towards the town. He would act cordial to these folk. He wouldn't get married by a long shot. All he would get would be some girl nagging him, slowly growing old and fat. She would prohibit him from doing fun things like say, getting drunk. Then she would have a kid. The kid would be whiny and complain and he would have to pump cash into the little brat. But he would be cordial. He would be friendly even. He would be nice to these people and they would be nice to him. Or at least he hoped.
