"My Bio"

LCpl. Bruce W. Lorry

I was born on 01 December 1949 in Stoneham, Massachusetts. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, shortly after my 17TH birthday in 1966. I went to Parris IsLand, SC, for my basic training. From there I went to Camp LeJeune, NC, for my ITR training. Then I went to Camp Pendelton, CA at Delmar for Amtrac training. After completion of that I was trained in the operation of the 105MM howitzer. From there I was transfered to Marine Barracks in Kenitra, Morocco, at Bouknadel NCS for 15 months. Then I rotated back to the States. I then attached to B. CO. 4TH Platoon 2ND Amtrac Battalion at Camp LeJeune. While there I went to Brig Chaser School. I was then transfered to Camp Pendelton, CA, attached to Staging 4TH Replacement Unit 4443, to train to go to Nam, but only got as far as Camp Schwab, Okinawa, where I was with C. CO. H&S Platoon 1ST Amtrac Batttalion 3RD Marine Division, from Mar. 70 to June 70 when I was rotated back to Camp Pendelton, CA, where I got an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps...... "With respect you get respect"

CNN this morning showed George W. leaving HM-1. The Marine at the front step saluted....GW returned it, and as he walked away, the Marine executed a right face to stand facing GW's back...something that was missing in eight years of the Clinton Presidency.
The traditional Marine Corps mark of respect was rendered to the new President. That one goes back to the days in the rigging, when the Marine orderly to the ship's captain always faced him, no matter his direction of movement, to be ready to receive an order.
Leave it to the Marines to speak ever so loudly without ever uttering a word.
