Your coat is gone
From it's accustomed
nail behind the door.
No great mud tracks
now mar the whiteness
of my fresh scrubbed floor.
A savage wind blew in
to filch the smell
of that old odorious pipe
you love so well.
Gone..............Gone
are all the intimate things
that made you dear.
Lamentable................
How commonplace they seemed when you were here.

Poem #3
"CIGARET"
My Love is like your Cigaret
One Moment Glowing,
The next---Gray ash that skurries
away with blowing.
So frail my Love is Dear, and yet
Im sure you're joking,
So often you've threatened......but I know
You can't quit Smoking.

Poem # 4
"Through"
I've lived too long
I've seen love come..........and go
It's time to die.
The gold is dust,
The very wind it cought
Is but a sigh.
I've heard that love
returnes ........and faith renews
If this is so
And I must live
Another parting hour
Ah.......No........No! No!
I've lived too long
I've seen love come and go,
It's time to die.

A poet through and through !
Aunt Edie was what I believed to be my spirit- guide. I loved and admired her so much that I could feel her influence even after she died in the
1950s. When a time in my life came that turned me inside out and upside down ,she was there-
there guiding me on a course that would take me through the rest of my life. She lead me into the antique business which I knew nothing about.
I called my shop AUNT EDIE'S GLASS SHOP.
I became known as AUNT EDIE the glass lady
I felt that glass was where she wanted me to specialize and I loved glass. I could feel her when I was looking for merchandise telling me what to buy and what was good. Whenever I
needed help she would send someone. And when
I needed a bigger store she led me to it. My
business was an instant success and it grew and grew untill I was well known as THE expert on glass. She led me to study and learn all I could
about the subject. It was so much fun. For 25 years it lasted. My favorite Aunt was there for me. Now Im retired and I want to honor her in some way.
POETRY was her passion and perhaps I can
keep her memory alive along with her poetry.
Here's to you Aunt Edie with All My Love!!!
Poem #5 ~~~~~~~~~~~My Very Favorite~~~~~
..............." SUBSTITUTE "....................
A Face is a face to a hand in the dark;
My fingers now fail at discerning
Whose face this that so warmly presses my own,
Whose smooth cheek so pleasantly burning.
Only my lips that mistake not his kiss
Turn to the darkness still yearning.

Poem # 6
" WINGED"
Considering
How callous I've become
My heart so still
Upon its nest
Scarcely caring to breathe
Or move a quill---
Do you assume
That I perchance forget
how my heart sped.
Soared,dipped and sang
And entering heavens blue
Froze........as it bled?
