Thomas & Ann PARHAM NELSON Descendants:
Pioneer Nelson's, and their families came west to Alabama in the early 1800s. They married, built families, fought in the wars, farmed the country, ran the stores, attended and taught in the one room school houses, were postmasters, justices of the peace, educators, doctors etc. They developed the land and opened the opportunities that we now enjoy. Some moved to points north, south, east and west. Some still live here, many live throughout the United States and the World.

ISHAM NELSON HAS NO GRAVE MARKER
Many of his family descendants still live in and around Millersville, Ala.. one is Asland, Ala. I have not had a chance to double check my records, but I think one of his descendants still lives on the Old Nelson Farm. I do know that Isham Nelson is buried on top of the Mountain on this farm and he has a Stone on his grave.. No Info. on the stone, however in 1962, I went to the farm and talked to the Nelson who lived there. He walked me up to the grave site on the Mountain in the middle of the cotton field. The Item that I really found Interesting was that there are about 20 Indians buried around him. Don Nelson I asked for more info from Don NELSON & he sent: Millersville, Ala
When you are standing next to the Cemetery where a lot of Nelsons are buried. Look up to you right about 1 o'clock. The mountain is there. Now, to get to it, look to your left and go down about 1/4 or 1/2 mile, there is a dirt road that turns off to you, then , right. Go down that road until it dead ends in another dirt road. Take a right and go about 1/4 to 1/2 mile. There is another dirt road that turns off to your right. This road will take you right by and in the middle of the Nelson farm. I do not know if it is still there, (The House I mean), You have to note that this was back in the 1960s when I went and a lot can change from then to now. To find the mountain from the house, keep down the road about 1-2 miles, there is a slight bend in the road to the right and then to the left. Stop and look to your right up to the top of the mountain. From here we had to walk about 1/2 mile up the side of the mountain. It is on the top. At that time, It was under a grove of pine and oak trees, but you could see that it was a Cemetery of some sort. It may have grown up a lot since then.

If someone can locate this grave, would any of you pitch in for a marker?
