DUTCH BOYS FINGER by Nancy Harris " Over again I feel thy finger and find thee"--Gerald Manley Hopkins

I inhabit a pink shotgun
on a bend of the Mississippi"s mouth.
it engulfs me like an amoeba or jonah's whale,
intestinal home

whose windows blink in rythums of prisms & colored bottles: Hamlins wizrd oil, brown ginger tonic, blue bromo-seltzer, Hoods sarsaparilla---cure ailment of body or spirit:
rubber & jade pencil plants, peacock feathers
snale images, stashes of nused poems, mardi gras beads--
aggregations of my objective life.

my sun registers in the earth
containers of things
while air ascends & pulls
me apart stretching
endlessly my rubber ego
& only a fingertip keeps its midont
from giving out.

the weight of these things presses me down
like ocean waves" impersonal tonnage
& trying to breath is impossible
as getting out of bed, as Dane Wakoski said
" I want to go to sleep and never wake up"---
but dreams are as troublesome & more real.

an ex-lovers ghost glimmers against these walls
as shadows cast from the blue blue scted genie lamp & up on the levee dutch boy.

SEAWARD by: Harold T. Little

Seaward!
Into the billowing waves!
Into the froth and spray!
Into the leagues of tumultous majesty!
We roll and heave against the mackerel sky.

Seaward!
We dive as the osprey
Into the vest ultramarine deep.
Retieving our sustenance from its bounty
Then emerging, w set our course against the wind.

Seaward!
We shall traverse this emerald expanse
Through calm and storm,
Ever ownward, with unfurled sails,
wafted toward our destiny,
Hidden beyond the blue horizon.

Seaward! Ever Seaward!
Earth and sky become as one,
Purified by the raging tide.
Alas, the realization!
The sea shall rise to reclaim her own,
We shall become her subjects,
and shall all return- Seaward!

Karmic Love Splinters by: MoonShadowsLady

Deep facets twinkle within crystal blue and reflecions radiate backwards...backwards to peaceful overwleming days. Moments , pieces of time grouped, segemented spaces..bring peace to my soul in these troubled days.
Why can't I stay there, and not come back here again! Why can't I make THAN, Now..what was better than?

When I first saw your face- the mirror cracked from side to side. Fate wrote in her book of human pride-.one more name added to her list of Fools.
Mars frowned and mad plans for War with YOU.

Venus put on her pearls of tears, and Earth resounded echo's of past years- of not learning by watching mistakes already made.
I stepped into the boat and loosed the chains, never to return home again.

I sought You out Hades Gate, and bony fingers made we wait-not time to enter yet.
I fell asleep and as a dream this life continued. You shrugged me off and belssed my leaving and staying in the world of the living.
Than Mars flung his flames of war, and earth blew up. History took the book from Fate, and erased all memory of the Human Race.
You and I at least.
Mercury flew to tell the news, the day I stopped Knowing and Loving you.
