As American as apple pie.....
.....SUPER HEROES! Well, although these ones were once major players they're hasbeens, losers, dead knockers, used to be famous fellas. On this site there's built model kits of them. There's book and poster art too. The thing is these characters have FEW fans today or are even forgotten. Some are just NOT politically correct. This is for the purpose of show & tell. NOTHING is for sale.....not that you wanted any!
Roll call : Lone Ranger, the Shadow, the Phantom ( Batman like jungle guy ), Commando Cady, Tarzan....don't start with ' but Disney's movie was huge ' it's the Disney name that's huge, that same movie without Disney, Lucas, etc name attached would've FLOPPED otherwise Travis Fimmel's show would be in it's 6th year and Christain Van Dien would've made 2 sequels! Tarzan movies alone lasted 50 YEARS until 'ol Tarz petered out after Ron Ely's tv show. Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers ( the original 30's version ), Doc Savage, Mandrake the magician, Green Hornet...he was a hasbeen in 1966 when the last attempt to revive him was, MAYBE Dick Tracy, Sam Spade, Mike Hammer, Charlie Chan, Mr. Moto and Sherlock Holmes.....all washed uppers now.
Shazam! It's the original CAPTAIN MARVEL
Yes, even the great CM is of relativly little interest now, perhaps a small dedicated cult following of so many thousand. We're not talking Trekker numbers here.

Doc Savage, the Man of Bronze
![]()
This was originally an underground resin model kit made in the late 90's or so. The paperback art version of the character. Could've painted it lifelike but I went a bronze statue route.
Doc had once been a super star of action story magazines, as popular as The Shadow or at least as well known. In paperback, his adventures ran for nearly 30 years of books, surpassing the number of the original magazine run!
I could'nt show it but it stands atop a nicely done vine covered Aztec like structure. Today Spider-Man, Batman, etc are so much more popular probably.
