MOVIE POSTERS
![]()
This is a small reproduction of one of several posters of Weismuller's first Tarzan movie ( early 30's ). Seems lions are seen often in fight scenes with Tarzan in any medium.

One of Johnny's later movies and a good one IMO.
a major Burroughs Collection
![]()
Instead of showig you my CRUD like te homemade movie and book style loin cloths, I thought I'd show you image grabs from AMC's INVESTIGATING TARZAN. Here's one room in The Burroughs museum / collection at Luisville University in Kentucky. This place has more Tarzan stuff than ERB Inc does probably!

This shows just one side of one bookcase row. They have more but I don't know how many. THIS one maybe the main one. There's movie posters, toys I suppose, lobby cards, 8 x 10s, etc. This might almost be the Tarzan equivelent of Jim Hambrick's vast Superman collection! Might have 3 or 4 rooms.
Replica Knife

NOT at the museum but at ERB Inc. Here's a copy of one of Weismuller's movie knifes. That blade may be 9 inches!
Movie Loin Cloths
![]()
After Weismuller got the role, most movie loin cloths were pretty much the same: brown trunks covered by a brown swede (?) flap in front and back. Gordon Scott's was unique though as the back flap encircled the hips and overlapped the front flap at the sides. Scott was the first bodybuilder Tarzan (1950's). Later Mke Henry ( late 1960's ) would be the one other most muscular one BEFORE the Tarzan movies were to be tried again in the 80's with Miles O'Keefe being the bodybuilder Tarzan (in that stinking pile Bo Derek movie) until the 90's and 2004 TV efforts happened.

Before Weismuller ( 1932? ), the last silent movie Tarzan who had one of the more impressive physiques in reality, sported NOT a loincloth but leapard knee pants!
![]()
Buster Crabbe in a 1930's serial was the only non silent movie Tarzan to sport leapard skin and trunks at that.
