Name appears on a roll of prisoners of war dated July 27, 1864 at Nashville, TN. Records indicate he was captured by forces under Maj. Gen. W.T. Sherman near Atlanta, GA on July 20, 1864. Sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago, IL, records indicate he arrived there on August 1, 1864. Took the Oath of Allegience at Camp Douglas and was discharged June 16, 1865.
