Charlotte County, VA Will Book 2:87


In the name of God amen I Thomas Keirsey of the County of Charlotte in the Colony of Virginia being in perfect health and sound mind and memory for which I praise Almighty God do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. I give unto m dear and loving wife Lucy Keirsey all my land whereon I now live during her life with all the stock, household and kitchen furniture belonging thereto, my will and desire is that my land shall be divided as followeth, that is to say beginning at the middle of John Garden's line and run a strait line to where my line crosses the great branch to be divided between my four sons for them and their heirs forever, that is to say my son William Keirsey, John Keirsey, Richard Keirsey and Isaac Keirsey, my will and desire is that my two oldest sons William Keirsey and John Keirsey shall have the land next to the road to be equally divided betwixt them, my son William Keirsey to have the end next to John Gardens, my son John Keirsey to have the end next to James Cunninghams and the other part of my land to be equally divided betwixt my two youngest sons Richard Keirsey ad Isaac Keirsey for them and their heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my Thomas Keirsey two cows after the death of my wife, my will and desire is that the rest of my estate shall be equally divided betwixt four of children Richard Keirsey, Isaac Keirsey and daughter Mary Keirsey and Agniss Keirsey for them and their heirs forever.

Item I give and bequeath to daughter Sarah Billups one shilling sterling. I give and bequeath to daughter Susaner Sublet one shilling sterling. I constitute and appoint my two sons John Keirsey and Richard Keirsey executors of this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal this fifteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and ninty.
