The Bedroom Branch Line, Dec 2001.
That's the bathroom door (I gotta duck!), the wye-junction is to the right, and the Bedroom Yards are to the left around the curve.

Bathroom Drawbridge, March 2004, but it hangs down not up.

It took me three years and real ingenuity, but finally I don't have to duck!!!

Sometime later that year I accidentally kicked it in the "down" position and tweeked the hinge, so another idea was needed...

...(August 2006) I'm "thinking-up" possibilities of raising the layout UP to a height about 12 inches from the ceiling, would solve all sorts of "bumbing into" and not needing drawbridges, and just use step-stools when working on or running trains...

Kind of dark, but a broad perspective from the bedroom toward the livingroom.
The Bedroom Yards starts to the left of this curve in the foreground.
Track hugs the edge of the door openning (where I made a short tunnel), can't close the bedroom door all the way, but I notched the styrofoam scenery so that it does almost close to about four inches.

Upper and Lower Yards, June 2003.
About to be extended around this room too.
(Also you can almost see lots of Micro-Switches for the electrical stuff.)

Bedroom Upper and Lower Yard locomotive tracks.
The "Weddingcake Spiral" is to the left.

Weddingcake Spiral in construction, Nov 2002.
It is entirely made of layers of strong cardboard, because I had no means to cut up plywood like that.
(I rarely sleep in my bed.)

Weddingcake Spiral, June 2003.

You can't see it, but in the center of it is a rock-quarry and a cement plant, well "someday".
you can almost see the Upper and Lower Yards.

This is the biggest section at 40 inch x 54 inch x 10 inch height.

I limit the train lengths to about 12-15 cars maximum, because of derailment problems.

Spiral Sept 2008

...saddly, Aug 2007 (after 10-plus years), I was evicted from the apartment you see all through this website (new manager)...

...completed Wedding Cake Spiral (except has a "crunch" area along the top, happened during the move) is sitting on the floor of my "new" apartment... just an hour or so before tracks get taken off and Spiral is cut-up, (sniff)...

BUT THERE IS GOOD NEWS TOO !!!

...this is the first photo which shows to me that I CAN use my new digital camera for photos, and transfer them from my new MSNTV2 device to this website--- yay !!!

...website number two is in the making soon!!!
