Our Old Gang When we were all newly weds, we would have get togethers at each other`s house and in the summer we would go camping. Every one started having children and I worked as well as Elsie,so we lost contact with each other for a number of years. Now that we are older ( a lot older ) we have started visiting again. Wimpy and Elsie had a reunion party at their beach camp in June 2003 for all of us. We really had a good time. We meet once a month for a get-together. Our gang as follow: Alan( Wimpy ) and Elsie Welch , Margaret and Thirmond ( Buddy or Nick ) Nichols, Robert ( Slick ) Gilbert, Harold ( Bud ) and Katie Landry, Nelta and Bill Blanco and Will and myself (Mirley)Trahan. Special Memories I have some special memories I would like to share with you. Christmas of 2002 was the last time I spoke with Eva Gilbert and she told me she had spoken with Margaret ( Nichols ) and they came up with all of the old gang getting together for a reunion. Well. Eva lost her fight with cancer before we could all get together. I want to thank Eva and Margaret for coming up with the idea because it has been great. I think it is one of the best medicines, for senior citizens there is.all of us who have aches and pain and other serious sickness, forget all about it when we are all together. Friends are the best medicine in the world for anyone. We do miss Eva Gilbert, Floyd Devine and Dixie Dore at our get together.
