Max's Classic Top 40 Countdown
I have been a chart fan from way back. Each week, I couldn't wait to hear the local Top 40 and the American Top 40. I faithfully jotted down the songs, positions and artists. When life called me away, I would throw a tape in and record the shows so that I never missed a beat. Now, here is my chance to share with you the joy in being a chart watcher and shaper.
This game is easy! Each week, I will post a list of 40 songs in chronological order of their debut on the charts.
All you have to do is click on your favorites to keep the songs you love heading to the #1 position! I will tally up the results and post the countdown on this page.
Each week, the songs with the least amount of hits will get bumped and a list of ten new songs will be added as "hitbound" songs for the following week. Whichever song gets the most hits will be number one. The songs will move up and down the charts based on their amount of hits.
You can vote for as many songs as you like. When there is a tie vote, I will list the songs based on their chart history, listing songs with the most amount of time on the chart and songs with the biggest leaps upward first.
A Note of Suggestion
There will be many songs you may not have heard or have forgotten about. Look at some of the unfamiliar titles, do a net search on them and check out those songs you don't know-there may be a new favorite there for you!
