Activate your Motivation: Ask yourself: "What areas of my life are being affected by issues of health? Look at: work, home, family, relationships, emotions, spirit, self- esteem, confidence, energy, etc. Health is an investment. Its vital conseqences and results reach into every area of life.Think about the "dividends" paid back with even small imprvements in lifestyle-- they may not be visible all at once, but the rewards are undeniable. Again, Look at: work, home, family, relationships, emotions, spirit, self- esteem, confidence, etc. Ask yourself: What is it worth to me-- How badly do I want to feel better in my body and my life today? If you really want a new, abundant life, health, and vision, then you will see that you can't afford NOT to make a serious investment in your wellness, 2. Set Goals Written goals work! Far more than thoughts that stay in your head, goals that are wrtten down help us stay on track and accountable. Most people know enough to choose a few moderate, simple starting goals that will improve health, such as: Eating less fat, more fruits & veggies, less sugar, quit smoking, etc. Be specific. The more specific, the better. Ie., If you are cutting back on fats, write down what foods you will forgo and when, including healthy items you will be substituting. 4. How will you implement these goals? Again, the more specific you can be, the better. Ie,. if you will be eating more fresh fruit, when will you buy & eat it & prepare it-- and how will you prepare it so as to be tempting to you? Measurable goals help us look at our progress: set an ongoing, regular timetable to check back in on progress, Ie., weekly on Sundays, bi- monthly, on the 1st & 3rd, etc. 3. Get Support Studies show the value of support in achieving valued health goals. Make a list of the people in your life who care about you and ask them to support you. Letting someone know what you are shooting for, and checking in on a regualr basis, letting them know how you are doing & what changes you will be making in your plan, etc., helps you stay on track and accountable. 4. Hold your Vision List the "dividends", the benefits you will reap from better Wellness practices-- how "the new you" you will think and feel. Ie., Food and drink alone have an incredible influence on your mental, emotional and physical states. Eating healthy, high- qualty food is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to create a better life.
