ALOCASIAS

Alocasia "Hilo Beauty". Large variegated leaves, could be considered semi-aquatic.

This is the really rare form of Alocasia portei native to Northwestern Australia. This one has the mottled petiole and larger foliage than the common mass-tissue cultured type from New Guinea which is all green and extremely tender.
A lot of lab professionals have gone insane attempting to clone it. This is the slowest pupping Alocasia around. I'm lucky if I get 2-3 pups a year.

Our Alocasia zebrina reticulata. Probably the rarest form, most of the tissue culture introduced into Florida was wiped out by a hurricane.

Our Alocasia "Purple Prince". Hard to see in the photo but this one is Eggplant Purple! Large foliage... this one is almost 1 foot by 2 foot.

Our Alocasia lowii. this plant has similar leaves to Alocasia amazonica but the leaves have a frosted-gray appearance.

Our uncommon Alocasia `Villeneuvii'. Has a tiger striped petiole like one of its parents, Alocasia Tigrina.

Our Alocasia guttata var. `Imperialis'. This species was lost and thought to be extinct for a long time. Also known as Alocasia nebula.

Our Alocasia longiloba. The back of the leaf is dark purple.

Alocasia cuprea. Looks like it's made of copper. Likes shade, warmth and high humidity. Very slow growing.

This is our Alocasia sanderiana X 'Polly' albo-variegata (thats a mouthful!) Extremely rare mutation. Mature leaves can get 1 1/2 '.
