"VISION WITHOUT ACTION IS A DAYDREAM, ACTION WITHOUT VISION IS A NIGHTMARE."
- Zen Proverb -

Hey Everybody and welcome to the
"Mission Statement" Page
&
yes this page is still under construction...
and so ain't LIFE!

eh?

Like the Zen quote above I've been
taking action on some new visions lately
and clearing out a lot of things that just
"don't ring true" to me much anymore.
(it's so easy to mistake "motion" with
"action" or "busy" with "fulfilling" y'know?)

A few years ago, I got really sick of the
"hardest workin' guy in local show biz" title
and handed the crown over to....dunno...
(who's got it these days?)
So with the help of my day job, which I love, as Music Director @ Project Soar (Teaching K-12) I have been able to raise my standards a bit and not have to "overstimulate the overmedicated" in any ol' gin-joint just to pay the bills....and that feels SWEET!

(I've also reunited with my long neglected "inner morning person" too) So you'll notice there are more EARLIER shows on the books, and more and more Concert type shows, and "listening room" type venues.

The band has become "The Mystic Mojo Trio"
w/ guests here and there, building it up when needed, but also doing more solo shows as well (also have a solo acoustic CD in the works too!)
There is a new freedom and versatility in the air...
and I'm lovin' it!

I will ramble about all this in the days ahead, so for now let's just say -

THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST,
WELCOME TO THE MISSION PAGE

placed a comma."

-Gracie Allen- 20th Century Comediene

got courage?

got compassion?

got culture?

got capacity?

got instant karma?

-John Lennon-

MORE MUSIC QUOTES:

"The Blues had a baby, and they named the baby rock 'n roll."

"We don't like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out." -Decca
Recording Company rejecting the Beatles, 1962

"It's much too late to do anything about rock & roll now ..." - Jerry Garcia

"... As far as being a 'player's player', you've only got to go to Nashville or Argentina, and you can forget about it. The world is full of amazing guitar players, and you know it, and I know it ... it's a humbling experience..." - Mark Knopfler

"... guitarists shouldn't get too riled up about all of the great players that were left off of 'Rolling Stone Magazines' list of the Greatest Guitar Players of all Time' ... Rolling Stone is published for people who read the magazine because they don't know what to wear ..." - Joe (Sach) Satriani

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
- Hunter S. Thompson -

"Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke

Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. -Victor Hugo -

"Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art." - Charlie "YardBird" Parker

"...regardless of what you play, the biggest thing is keeping the feel going ..." - Wes Montgomery

"Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule." -Samuel Butler

"There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself." -Johann Sebastian Bach

"I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality." -H. A. Overstreet

"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosphy. Music is the electrical soil in which the spirit lives, thinks and invents." - Ludwig van Beethoven

"After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music." -Aldous Huxley

IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS ANYWAY...

"People are often unreasonable,
illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some false friends
and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,
someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway..

LOVE

...still the bottom line.
