Scenes from Historic Philadelphia Pa.

This is my little tribute to my home town. Not one of the most beautiful cities in the world but not too shabby either. Here is the fountain at Eakins Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. One of the prettiest parts of Philly.

City Hall

Our city hall located at Broad and Market Sts. It's topped off with a statue of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvainia.

Independence Hall

Located at 5th and Market Sts, it where so much of our nation's history took place, such as the signing of the Decleration of Independence, thus the name. :-)

The Liberty Bell

Also at 5th and Market Sts, the Liberty Bell is located right in front of it's old home, in Independence Hall. Probably the two biggest tourist attractions in Philly.

Elfreth's Ally

The oldest (and probably SMALLEST) residential street in the United States. You can stand in the middle of the street and ALMOST touch the homes on either side of the street. Definitely built when this was a horse and buggy town. Located between 2nd and 3rd Sts, just north of Arch St.

The Betsy Ross House

This is where our country's first flag was alleged to have been created by Betsy Ross. Located at 4th and Arch Sts.

The Phila Museum of Art

On the Ben Franklin Pkwy, this is one of the most prestigous museums in the country. It was also seen in the Rocky movies, where he would run up it's 99 steps as part of his training.

The Thinker

Also on the Ben Frankin Pkwy, this is a replica of the famous sculpture by Francois Rodin, located outside of the Rodin Museum.

The Man with the Umbrella

I really don't know what the story behind this statue is. I just always liked it and try to stop to see it when ever I'm near 17th and Locust Sts.
