Mary Jane Slusher being duly sworn deposes and says: That Alfred Slusher late of the Town of Patton in the County of Ford and the State of Illinois, departed this life at the Town of Patton in said County, on or about the Tenth day of September A. D. 1875, and that the said Alfred Slusher died seized of personal property to the probable value of Two Hundred Dollars; and that the following persons are his heirs; viz George W. Slusher, Alfred E. Slusher, James L. Slusher, Mary E. Slusher and Susan R. Slusher and that Mary Jane Slusher is surviving Widow of said Alfred Slusher.

The undersigned, Mary J. Slusher your petitioner, by appointment of this Court, Administratrix of the Estate of Alfred Slusher deceased, respectfully represent that She has heretofore duly returned to this Court the inventory and appraisement of the personal estate of said deceased; that the following items of the personal property, goods and chattels of said estate, to-wit:
Two set of carpenters tools - two ...... - two ........ and others ..... - one grind stone - one ....... single harness - one last set of double harness - one cook stove and cooking utensils - ....... - one large ....... - bed - trunks - chest & other household goods are now in an unsafe condition subject to rust & be otherwise distroyed.
hat it is necessary for the proper administration of said estate that the same be sold, and that it will be to the best interest of said estate that they be sold at Public sle. Your petitioner therefore respectfully prays for an order of this Court directing her to sell said personal property at public sale.

This is to authorize you, jointly, to appraise the goods, chattels and personal estate of Alfred Slusher late of the County of Ford and State of Illinois, deceased, so far as the same shall come to your sight and acknowledge, each of you having first taken the oath hereto annexed; a certificate whereof you are to return, annexed to an Appraisement Bill of said goods, Chattels and personal estate, by you, appraised in dollars and cents; and in the said bill of appraisement you are to St down in a column or columns, opposite to each art'cle appraised, the value thereof.

PETITION FOR AN
ORDER TO SELL
REAL ESTATE.
An affidavit having ben filed by the pettitioner
in the office of the clerk of said court, showing
that the said defendants, George W. Slusher, Alfred
Slusher and Susan Slusher reside outside of this state,
and that George W Slusher and Alfred Slusher re-
side in Blanchester, Ohio, and that Susan Slusher
resides at Peru South Fork, West Virginia, notice
is therefore hereby given to the said George W.
Slusher, Alfred Slusher and Susan Slusher, that
the said Mary J. Slushe has filed her petition in
siad court praying for an order to sell the follow-
ing described real-estate, situated in Ford County,
Illinois, to-wit: All of lot ywelve (12) of a subdivi-
sion of the north east quarter (ne 1/4) of the south
west quarter (sw 1/4) of section seventeen (17) in
township twenty-three (23) nrth of range ten (10),
east of the third principal meridian, according to
the recorded plat thereof, excepting seven (7) rods
off from the north side of the whole width from
east to west, to pay the debts and claims against
the estate of said Alfred Slusher, and that sum-
mons in said cause will be returnable at the July
term of said court, to be holden at the court house
in Paxton, in said county, on the 3rd Monday in
July, 1877.
Now, unless you the said, George W. Slusher, Al-
fred Slusher, and Susan Slusher shall appear before
said court on the first day of August term
thereof, being Aug 20th, A.D. 1877, at Paxton
aforesaid, and plead, answer or demur to the said
petition, the allegations contained therein will be
taken as confesed by you, and an order entered in
accordance with the prayer of said petition.

ADMINISTRATRIX'S SALE OF REAL ESTATE
By virtue of a decretal order of the County Court
of Ford county, Illinois, made an entered on the
sixteenth day of October, A. D. 1877, on the peti-
tion of Mary J Slusher as administratrix of the
estate of Alfred Slusher, deceased, against George
W. Slusher, Alfred Slusher, James Sulsher, Susan Slusher and Mary Weston for leave to sell the real
estate of said decedent, to pay the debts of said
estate, the undersigned will, on the ninth day
of November. A. D. 1877 at two o'clock P.
M. at the east door of the court house in Paxton,
Ford county, Illinois, sell all the right, title and
interest, which was of the Alfre SLUSHER, deceased, at the time of his death (subject however to the
widow's dower and homestead rights), in and to
the following described real estate, to-wit:
All of lot twelve (12), of the subdivision of the
north-east quarter (ne1/4) of the south west quar-
ter (sw1/4) of section seventeen (17), in township
twenty three (23), north of range ten (10), east of
the 3d principal meridian, Ford county, Illinois,
according to the recorded plat thereof, except
seven (7) rods off from the north side of the whole
width from east to west. Said sale to be made on
the following terms, viz: One-third cash, one-third
in six months, and the remaining one-third in
twelve months: said twodefered payents to
draw interest at ten percent, per annum and to be
secured by a mortgage on the premises, with per-
sonal security.

er, Mary Weston, Susan Slusher, at the heirs of
said Alfred Slusher, deceased:
You are hereby notified that the undersigned,
administratrix of the estae of Alfred Slusher, de-
ceased, will at the said December term, 1877, of
said county court (according to the order of the
court) persent her final settlement as such admin-
istratrix, to said court for approval, and pray an
order for the distribution of any moneys that may
be remaining in her hands after the payment of the
widow's award, debts and costs of adminitraion,
when and where you may appear and object to
said settlement, if you see fit.

Petition to Sell Real Estate to pay Debts
George W. Slusher, Alfred Slusher, James
Slusher, Mary Slusher formerly //unreadable//
Mrs. Mary Weston, Susan Slusher defendants.
And now come the petitioner herein by Calvin H. Frew Solicitor and presnt her petition herein, asking for leave to sell the real estate of said deceased, described therein, to pay the debts of said deceased, and it's satisfactorily appearing to said Court that the defendants James Slusher has been been duely served with summons therein on June 19th day of June/1877 by the Sheriff of Vermilion County Illinois and that the defendant Mary Weston formerly Mary Slusher did //unreadable// enter her appearance and waive service of summons and file of herein on August 11th 1877 and that the defendants George W. Slusher, Alfred Slusher, Susan Slusher, who were shown by affidavit to be non-residents of the State of Illinois, and have been duly notified of this proceeding by publication as required by law; that publication has been made in the Paxton Weekly Record a weekly newspaper, published in said County, once each week for four succesive weeks, containing a notice of filing of the petition, the names of the parties thereto, the title of the Court, and the time and place of return of the summons in the said case, and a description of the premises described in said petition;
the first publication having been made in the paper dated the fourteenth day of June A. D. 1877, and the last publication on the fifth day of July A. D. 1877, those being the regular days for the publication of said paper; and that copies of siad notice were within ten days of the first publication of said notice, and on the 16th day of June A. D. 1877, sent by mail, addressed to the said defendant George Slusher Alfred Slusher and Susan Slusher at their place of residence, and forty days having intervened between the first publication aforesaid and the first day of the August term, A. D. 1877 of this Court and said defendants having failed to appear and plead, answer or demur in siad petition, it is therefore ordered by the Court that the said defendants not answering be called. And that they being three times solomnly called, came not, nor any one for them bur herein failed and make default; which is ordered to be entered of record and a decree pro confesso entered against them respectively; and it is futher appearing to the Court that the said James Slusher comes and file his answer heerin, by John Pollock his solicitor. And this cause having been brough on to be heard upon the erition herein taken s confessed by the adult defendants which this Court finds was filed on the 8th day of Jne 1977, the answer of said James Slusher and replication thereto, and the exhibits and proofs, and the testimony of Mary Slusher witness duly sworn, who testified herein in open court together with the amount of indebtedness and amount of claims paid and the balance remaining due and //unreadable// paid and is satisfactorily appearing to the Court from the evidence that the said Alfred SLUSHER departed this live on or about the 10th day of September A. D. 1875 leaving Mary J. Slusher his widow and George Slusher Alfred Slusher James Slusher - Mary Slsher, now Mary Weston wife of George Westonand Susan Slusher his children and only heirs at law; that the petitioner herein was duely appointed administratrix of the Estate of said Alfred Slusher deceased, and that Letters of Administraion duly granted to her by this Court, bearing date on the 19th day of October A. D. 1875, and the Court having ascertained that said petitioner Mary J. Slusher as aforesaid has made a just and true account of the condition of the estate of said deceased to this Court, and that the personal Estate of said deceased is no sufficient or the payment of the debts of the said Alfred Slusher deceased; and the Court havinf foud the amount of the deficiency aforesaid to be in the sum of Three Hundred and Twenty - 40/100 dollars, besides interest and costs, and it further appearing to the Court that the said Alfred Slusher died seized of the following described Real Estate, situate in the county of Ford and the State of Illinois, to wit:
All of lot twelve of sub-division of the North-East quarter - (N.E. 1/4) of the South West quarter (S.W. 1/4) - of Section Seventeen (17) - in Township twenty-three (23) North of Range Ten (10) East of the //unreadable//, acording to the recorded plat? (sp?) thereof excepting Seven rods off from the north side of the whole width from East to West in Paxton in the county aforesaid and the Court ascrtained that it will be necessary to sell the whole the said Real Estate to pay the deficiency aforesaid, with the expenses of administration now due and to accrue; it is therefore ordered, adjudged and decreed that the prayer of said petition be granted, and that said petitioner proceed, according to law, to advertise and make sale of the Real Estate above described, or so much thereof as may be necessary to pay the debts now due said Estate, and the costs of administration now due and to accrue. And it is ordered and decreed by the out, that said sale shall be made on the following terms, viz:
one third cash and one third in six months and one third in twelve months //unreadable// interest at Ten percent per annum on the balance remaining due and unpaid - secured bya mortgage on the premises which terms shal be distinctly set forth in all the advertisements of said sale.
It is firther ordered, that upon such sale being made, that said MaryJ. Slusher shall make and execute to the purchaser or purchasers of said Real Estate, good and sufficient deed or deeds to covey the interests of said deceased therein at the time of his decease subject to her dower and homestead and that said Mary J. Slusher report her action in the premises with all coenient speed. And it is further ordered that this cause stand continued for said report.
