NOTE: Lillian Annabelle MONTGOMERY was born in 1897 and was the birth daughter of John Charles "Charlie" MONTGOMERY & Isabella "Izzy" J. SMART. Both of Lillian's parents died when she was but a small child. She was passed around the family to be raised first by a brother, then an aunt and then her sister's. It is not known who the "HAWKINS" are who are named as her parents on both of her marriage licenses. This couple must have taken her in at some point??? (A relation of the Minister at the 1st marriage?) NO ONE in the family seems to know.

NOTE: Lillian is known to be born in 1897 in Bucks Lodge, Sumner Co, TN. The 1900 Sumner Co. census shows her as born in June 1897 and to be 3 years old in June 1900. When Lillie married her 1st husb in 1916 her age (18 on birthday in 1915) indicates a birth in 1897. When she married her 2nd husb in 1928, she "trimmed" 3 years of off her age (age as 27 in 1928) and insisted thereafter that she was born in 1900. Her erroneous year of birth was believed by the family and was shown in error by her daughter Marjorie on Lillian's death certificate.
