BRIEF INTRODUCTION: Robert Charles TUCKER was my Great-great-grandfather - He was born on 16 Nov 1843 in Champaign County, Ohio - Served in Union Army bwtn 1861 & 1865 - m(1) 1871 Champaign Co., OH, to (My GGGMother) Lucy Ann McINTURFF (1853-1876) - m(2) 1878 Degraff, Logan Co., OH, to Eliza Ann (nee PHENEGAR) MOHR (1839-1926) Moved from Champaign Co., OH, to Delaware Co., Indiana, in 1898, first to Gaston, IN, then to Shideler, IN, before 1909 - In at least 1909/1910, he was a proprieter of a sawmill in Shideler, Delaware Co., IN - He died 6 Sep 1917 in Shideler, IN - His body was returned to Ohio and buried beside his 1st wife, Lucy Ann, in the Concord Church Cemetery, Concord Township, Champaign Co., OH.

Decalaration for an Original Invalid Pension
This must be executed before a Court of Record or some Officer thereof having Custody of the Seal.
State of Ohio, County of Champaign, SS:
On this 28 day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundread and eighty nine personally appeared before me Clerk of the Comm Pleas Court of Record within and for the County and State afeforsaid Robert Tucker aged 45 years, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Robert Tucker who was ENROLLED as a private on the 27 day of Oct, 1861, in Company B of the 66 regiment of Ohio commanded by Captain Palmer and was honorably DISCHARGED Louisville, KY., on the 15 day of July, 1865; That his personal description is as follows: Age 45 years; height 5 feet 3 inches; complextion Fair hair brown; eyes: grey. That while a member of the organization and in the line of duty at Kellys Ford in the State of Virgina on or about the 20 day of July, 1863, he contracted some kind of fever, the name or technical natre of which he is ignorant but he knows it was a fever and that he was very sick man. Also from exposure and prision life he contracted Scurvey of mouth and disease of mouth and gums on or about //unreadable// month of June, 1862 at Lynchbuurg, Va. He now claims pension for said fever and Scurvey and resulting disease of stomach and bowels and piles disease of //unreadable// and lumbago or disease of Kidneys. Also Rheumatism Contracted in said prision at said state.
That he was treated in hospitals as follows: //unreadable// at hospital Alexandria, Va. in July and August 1863.
That he is not been employed in the military or naval service otherwise than as stated above.
That since leaving the service this applicant has resided in the County of Champaign in the State of Ohio except about eleven months laborer.
That prior to his entry into the service aboved named he was a man of good, sound, physical health, being when he enrolled a Farmer. That he is now greatly disabled from obtaining his substistence by manual labor by reason of is injuries, above described, received in the service of the United States; and he therefore make this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the invalid pension roll of the United States. He hereby appoints with full power of substitution and revocation Jeramiah Jorn (sp?) of Urbana, Ohio, his true and lawful attorney to prosecute his claim. That he has not received nor applied for a pension; that his residence is No. Spring Hills, Champaign Co. Ohio, and that his post office address is same.

On this 23rd day of Nov, A.D. 1899, personally appeared before me, A Probate Judge, in and for the aforsaid County, duely autherized to administer oaths, John L. Davis aged 62?/64? //unable to read clearly//, a resident of Mad River Tp., in the County of Champaign and state of Ohio, whose Post Office address is Tremont City, Clark County, Ohio well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn according to law, declares in relation to aforsaid case as follows:
I was a member of the same Co. & Regt. with Soldier was taken prisoner together at Port Republic, Va. on 10 of June 1862 and confined together at Lynchburg and Belle Island in the summer of 1862 June July and August. I remember Tucker was //unreadable// of health suffering & comlaining with Rhumatism and heart disease and weak and sore eyes. He continued to suffer and complain of those disabilities the rest of his service and at date of his discharge. Often saw him in bad shape with these disabilities suffered up with the Rhumatism and weak and prostrated? (sp?) & out of breath from his heart trouble and his eyes were always week & watery after our prision life.

GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
In the matter of the claim of Robert Tucker personally appeared Dr. J. H. Arnold aged 84 years, whose Post Office addresss is, Shideler Ill. who, being affirmed declared in relation to said case that he has no interest in said case and is not concerned in its prosecution, Further, that
Mouth, presents scurvy: gums swollen, spongy and streaked with blood; Teeth: one snag and one tooth both decaye. Tounge: swollen, dry and painful; also pain in lower limbs. Joints swollen, anaemia and cocheria (sp?), also, diet is confined to liqur.
Stomach: weak. painfull on touch, burning sensation in the stomach and throught, pain and bloating on eating, lose of appetite together with mental disturbances, nerviousness and wakefulness.
Hemorrhoids: three in number: position exernal, congested, inflamed and indurated base. Free hemorrhage on examnation. Thehemorrhoidal mass form a protrusion about two inches i diameter and resembles a fibros-angiomata, About every three weeks is a reacurrant attack and during the attack the above mentioed conditions are much worse. Each attack last about one week.
He is totally disabled for manual work, also, not fit for any kind of business frome (sic) the above diseases.

On the 15 day of September, 1917, personallyappeared before me, a Clerk Circut Court, within and before said County and State, Elizabeth A. Tucker, aged 78 3/12 years born in Champaign Co June 30 - a resident of Shideler County of Delawarw, State of Indiana, who being sworn according to law declares that she is a widow of Robert Tucker who enlsted under te name of Robert Tucker at //blank// on the //blank// day of //blank// in Private Co. B, 66 Reg. Ohio Inf., and served at least niney days in the war of the rebellion who was honorably discharged //blank// and who died at Shideler Ind. Sept 6. 1917.
That she was married under the ame of Eliza A. Mohr to said Robert Tucker as Robert C. Tucker on the 24 day of January, 1878 y Rev. S. H. Halderman, a Logan Co. Ohio there being no legal barrier to said marriage.
That she had been previously married to John Mohr he died in Champaign Co. OH aug 2 - 1874. That this soldier had been previously marriaed to Lucy A. McInturf she died May 30 - 1876 in Champagn Co.. Ohio.
That she has not remairried since the soldier's death.
That the following are the name and dates of brth of all children of the soldier now living under sixteen years of age: no children under 16 years of age.
That she has not heretofore applied for a pension.
That the soldier was //blank// a pensioner by Certificate No. 748.704.
That she makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the Pension Roll of the United States uder the provision of Act of April 19, 1818 and Sept. 8 - 1916.
That she hereby appoints J. E. PATTERSON, of Mincie in the State of Indiana, her true and lawful Attorney, with power of substitution, to prosecute her claim. That her Post Office address is Box 38, Shedler, Indiana.

ON THIS 19th day of September, A. D. 1917, personally appeared before me A Notary Public in and for the aforsaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths, William McInturf, age 60 years, a resident of St. Paris, in the county of Champaign, and State of Ohio and Malinda McInturff, age 57 years, whose Post Office Adress is St. Paris Champaign State of Ohio well known to be reputable and entitled to credit and who being duly sworn, declares in relation to aforsaid case as follows: We are husband and wife, Wiliam McInturf for him self says he is a full brother of Lucy A. Tucker, who was the first wife of Robert Tucker, he being some time known as Robert C. Tucker and we both for our selves declare we were well and intiruatley (sp?) acquainted with said Robert Tucker the soldier cited above ever since before he was of marriageable age and we know he never married until he married the said Lucy A. McIntutf, with whom he lived until she died in Champaign Co, Oho, May 30, 1876. We know she died on that date because we were both personally present at her funeral and reviewed her dead body and recognized her as the deceased wife Lucy A. Tucker who was the first wife of said, Robert Tucker, and we know he did not marry untill he married Eliza A. Mohr, the widow sited above, whose maiden name was Eliza A. Phenegar, with whom he lived and cohabitated until he died, and this said Eliza A. Tucker has not remarried since the death of said Robert Tucker.
We further declare that WE have no interests in said case and Are not concerned in it's prosecution.

On this 21st day of September, A.D. A Notory Public in and for the aforsaid County, duly autherized to administer oaths Martha Hurst, age 71 years, a resident of Degraff, in the County of Logan, and State of Ohio whose Post Office Address is Degraff Ohio well known to be reputable and entitled to credit and who, being duly sworn, declares in relation to aforsaid case as follows: I am a full sister to John Mohr, the first husband of Eliza A. Tucker the widow cited above whose maiden name was Eliza A. Phenegar and was raised in the same neighberhood with this said Eliza A. Phenegar who is now Eliza A. Tucker, and associated with her from chldhood, and I know she never married until she married my said brother John Mohr, with who she lived and cohabitated until he died in Champaign Co. Ohio August 2, 1874, I well know said John Mohr died August 2, 1874 because I was personally present athis funeral, and viewed his dead boy and recognized it as my dead brother John Mohr, the first husnabd of the appilcant cited above and I now she did not again marry until she married RobertTucker the soldier cited above with whom she lived and cohabitated without seperation or divorce until he died, and this said Eliza A. Tucker has not remarried since the death of her late husband Robert Tucker. I know that my said brother John Mohr never served in the military or naval service of the United States.
I futher declare that I haveno interest in said case and am not concerned in its prosecution.

Cozier age 74 years, a resident of Spring Hill, in the County of Champaign, and State of Ohio whose Post Office Address is Degraff R R No. 4. Ohio well known to be reputable and entitled to credit and who, being duly sworn, declares in relation to aforesaid case as follows: I am a sister of John Mohr, who was the first husband of Eliza A. Tucker, the widow and applicant sited above, her maiden name being Eliza A. Phenegar, and I was raised in the same neighborhood with said Eliza A. Tucker from childhood and associated with her throughot life and I know she never married until she married my said brother John Mohr, with whom she lived without seperation or divorce until he died in Champaign Co. Ohio, August 2, 1874. I know he died o said date becaus I was personally present at his funeral, and I viewed his dead body, and recognizd it as the dead body of my brother, John Mohr the first husband of Eliza A. MOHR (1840-1874) and then 2nd married 22 Feb 1878 to my GGGFather, Union Civil War Veteran, Robert Charles TUCKER (1843-1917), Eliza Ann herself died in 1926 in ? - Eliza had been living with her son-in-law, Andrew Baughman MANOR (1875-1939) and daugher Goldie Mae (TUCKER) BAUGHMAN (1881-1975) in Muncie, Delaware Co., Indiana, in 1920 - Eliza is presumed to have died in Delaware Co., IN - Eliza is buried Springhills Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Champaign Co., OH.
