THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM "CARPETBAGGER"
This is the definition of the term "carpetbagger":
carpetbagger -- (an outsider who seeks power or success presumptuously; ``after the War Between The States the carpetbaggers from the north tried to take over the south´´ )
opportunist, self-seeker -- (a person who places expediency above
principle)
backscratcher -- (someone who is willing to trade favors or services for mutual advantage)
carpetbagger -- (an outsider who seeks power or success presumptuously. hustler, wheeler dealer, operator -- ((informal) a shrewd or unscrupulous person who knows how to circumvent difficulties) timeserver -- (one who conforms to current ways and opinions for personal advantage)
In the Alabama Division of the SCV we unforunately have some of these scoundrels. Anyone who supports these carpetbaggers lies and policies of false leadership is, in effect, a scalawag. We must make our elected officers do their jobs or call for their resignation or removal from their respective positions. They were elected to work for the Alabama Division, SCV. They have represented no one but their own self serving egos.
