ARRIVEDERCI ROMAIt was 1904 when Pasquale and Palmina Tibruzzi Carducci said,"ARRIVEDERCI ROMA" and came to America. With them were their children Clemente age 3 ,and Gino age 2.They came from Rome, where Pasquale was a policeman. Before living in Rome Pasquale lived in Pratola Peligna which is in the Abruzzo region and L'Aquila province. This is the town where the family originated.Pratola Pelinge is similar to where I live in Colorado in that both Beulah Colorado and Pratola Peligna are both mountain communities situated near a National Park. We know that Pasquale's father Clemente and his Mother Vincenza lived in Pratola Peligna but we are still searching for ancestors beyond that. Also coming to America were Pasquale's brother Gaitano and sister Marie. The only info we have on Gaitano is that he left Chicago Heights Ill. rather misteriously and moved to Philadephia, where he married, and had two daughters. Pasquale and Gaetano's sister Marie married Anthony Ruggieri and settled in Pueblo Colo. She had 3 children.Anthony,Jim,and Anna(Campanara).Anthony spent his life in Lansing.Ill(near Chicago Heights) while Jim and Anna lived inPueblo,Co. |
Pratola Peligna is located near the east coast of central Italy.http://www.concapeligna.it/

CARDUCCI'S-THE NEXT GENERATION "FIRST GENERATION AMERICANS"
Sadly, Palmina died not long after the birth of Romeo. The older children had to step in to help raise both Hugo and Romeo. Clemente, who by now, was married to Frances Occhiato of Pueblo, took in Hugo. Gino and his wife Norma along with Jenny and her husband Mike Laino of Pueblo helped raise Romeo. Pasquale lived in Chg. Hts. until his later years when he moved to Pueblo. He died in Pueblo in 1948. Pasquale was never the same after losing his wife so early, but he died knowing his voyage to America was not in vain;for all his chidren were going to have a better life as Americans. |
Here is Pasqual later in life while he was living in Pueblo. This was taken a few years before he passed away
