Here is a picture of Amarillo Pepsi in 1973,the year Chuck and Tim moved their Families to Amarillo.
Unlike Pueblo Pepsi, where Pepsi out sold Coke 5-1, Charles and Tim had their work cut out for them in Amarillo. As you can see here, it was not going to be easy, for the competion was the market leader and was not going to give ground without a fight.
In the early years of Pepsi Amarillo Tim trained each new route salesman
With hard work by the whole family and with marketing like the Pepsi Challange it wasn't long before Pepsi In Amarillo outgrew its location. Here Tim and the Pepsi Challange girl give the taste test to Amarillons. The Challange booth was taken everywhere in the 23 county franchise.
In 1981, Pepsi Amarillo moved to this new and larger plant. In that same year a warehouse was added in Pampa TX. to take care of the growing business

Pepsi Amarillo was truly a family business.Charles was president and took care of the inside operations of the plant while Tim was General Mgr.with sales, personnel and all customer contact as his responsibilities.Rosemary took care of inventory control and purchasing while Kay headed the office staff. Here is Rosemary at her desk in 1980.
To make sure Pepsi was the exclusive drink at all major venues in the Texas Panhandle Chuck and Tim created a new company Called PEPCO FOOD SERVICE. In addition to soft drinks PEPCO held the exclusive food contract(concessions) at the 8 largest entertainment, sports and educational venues in Amarillo. Here is the largest venue The Amarillo Civic Center where Pepco Held the concession contract from 1979 to 1990.Below is some of the other places where Pepco held exclusive contracts.
