League History (updates gladly accepted)

MSBL league began in 1993 with Robert Emanuel as president. All ages were mixed on teams. In 1994 there was a division of players into 'younger' and 'older' players, with Jay Fiscalini and Mike Jennings administering the younger division. A separate MABL(18+) was formed in 1995 with Mike Jennings as president, and the MSBL became 30+. The MSBL became 28+ when the National organization reduced the age requirement.

At inception, games were played at Blair in Pismo Beach (where we currently have open play and a fall league in the winter).

As of 2010, 1993 founding players John Brinckerhoff, Mike Kee, Arland Schweigl and Mike Thomas were still playing. Founding player Jimmy Kelly was also still active, but did not play all 18 years. Winning pitcher in the 1993 championship game was recent (2010) general manager of the Blues, Mike Lara, and the first player drafted in the league was the past owner of the Blues, Tim Golden.
