For the Benefit of Mr. Dee (reprise)

The Boston Rock Opera presented a concert performance of The Beatles' Abbey Road album.

The program for the evening went something like this:

Chris Mascara (the BRO's JCS 2000 Jesus)--acoustic performance
Abbey Road--1st performance
Brian Gottesman (the 2000 JCS Priest)--acoustic performance
The Sugar Twins--acoustic performance
Gary Cherone--acoustic performance
Abbey Road--2nd performance

Although I tried, I didn't get any decent photos during the Abbey Road performances. Lots of blurs...nothing really worth scanning. By the end, I said the heck with it and turned on the flash. ;-)

"The End"

L-R: John Surrette, Chris Mascara with his hand in the air, Linda Viens peeking over Brian Gottesman's shoulder, Peter Moore, some blond guy ;-) , Judy Dombrowski, T Max, Paula Morris, Bree Greig

Abbey Road was a delight! (I'll try to get a short review online soon, but you know how long it can take me sometimes...sigh...)

The surprise for the evening--at least for me!--was the 2-song "acoustic performance" from Gary during the break between Abbey Road sets. Gary and Leo Mellace performed acoustic versions of two Tribe of Judah tunes!!! Gary referred to the songs--Left for Dead and East of Paradise--as "sad...and sadder." ;-)

The following shots are from Gary and Leo's set.

ToJ...Unplugged! :-)

Gary...during the short time when he was able to sit still ;-)

Presenting: Tribe of Judah guitarist, Leo Mellace

And the singer from Leo's new band: Gary Cherone ;-)

Leo and Gary rock out

Hey, didn't Nuno once insist you couldn't *really* rock out on an acoustic guitar? Heh...

That blond singer again, getting soulful
