Good ideas! I sequence both my Favorites and my addresses using a three digit number which doesn't seem to affect anything else. In addresses, 100 -199 are family, 200 - 399 are e-mail friends, 400 - 499 are media, 500 - 599 are research projects, etc. I count by two's so I always have room to add new entries. If I have two addresses that are closely associated (i.e. husband & wife) I use the same number so they always stay adjacent. I use the previously posted trick of entering "1", "2", or "3" etc. to take me to the first entry of any category. Works good for me.
Oh, shup up, Pickering.

SWITCH USER

Hello, found another way to get to the 'switch users' page. (only works for secondary users though)

- Click on Help from main menu
- Click on Using an ISP (Dialing section)
- Click on Signing up to use an ISP

Instead of questions about signing up, there is a link to switch users. You can save this page in your favs and assign a shortcut f-key to it. Think it is set up this way because this help link will walk you through actually signing up for an isp and only the primary account has access to the account info.

Really isn't alot faster than pressing your home key and then switch users, or using Jerry's WbWzrd connect page,   just a different way to get there.

Probably the last to find this out but I thought I would pass it on anyway.

A bonus idea!

Correct assumption!

Ah, but it _might_ be! Consider this. Many users are experiencing VERY slow-loading Home Page problems. This may be due to it's graphic-intensive format, combined with poor quality phone systems. The page you offer _may_ load much faster than their home page or Jerry's page, so it _could_ be a blessing for them. Someone with slow connection problems would have to confirm this, but it just might be "the ticket."

Most likely the slow-loading Home Page is due to the IM. The WebTv home page has two other webpages embeded, one for email, and one for buddy lists (don't ask me how I know ). These two pages call to the network and do a data retrieval for your box, which is a loading process that takes time.

I recommend everyone that has the slow-load home page problem follows the advice of this thread and save this page to favs and assign to an f-key! Kudos on a good suggestion! :-)

EBAY

Just because someone lists a lot of one type of item does not indicate a scam. A lot of legitimate businesses have found ebay a viable marketplace to sell their wares. For instance, some mail-order camera stores are now using ebay to sell merchandise.

Always check a seller's feedback. Here's a nifty tool to check all the NEGATIVE feedback left for a seller (or bidder).

[Scroll down until you see "Review Negative and Neutral feedback left for seller" and input seller's ID]

You can tell a lot about the type of complaints and how the seller responded.

I've bought lots of stuff on ebay.... so far.. so good!

WMP

WMP is meant as an enhancement, not a stand alone feature for webpages. It is meant to make a site have more/better content. The best way to get the most out of WMP is to simply surf as normal, and when you come across a page that has some WMP files, use them! Much as the news sites and movie sites do with news stories and movie trailers. Watching a movie on WMP is almost pointless, but seeing a trailer may help you decide if you want to see the actual movie. Watching a tv station on WMP is almost rediculous, but seeing a news story or special scene from a tv show, or a music video is an excellent feature to have!

For more info, and tons of examples thanks to a few good posters, try my newsgroup:

[Note-absolutely no "adult" content, I ban without warning all who post something my god-son cannot view! After all, when he is with me, he has control of the keyboard! LOL]
