PUT YOUR FAVORITES ON A F-KEY

Many months ago I asked the same question as you did and a lot of ppl posted and e-mailed that it cannot be done, yet it most certainly can!

This is what I did with my ngs. I made a folder [file] entitled Ngs & Clubs ....
I saved each ng/club in that one folder. Then I opened that folder, hit "save" and the entire folder became one item in whatever file I decided to save it in. Then I went to that other file, clicked on organize, then to save on F key or whatever that last thing is on the organize page and saved the NG file on an F key.

All I do is hit that F key and I am taken to my entire Ngs & Clubs open & waiting for me to click on wherever I want to go next.

STORING URLS OF FAVORITES

Here's what I do with extra urls I want to keep in the folder and still have room.

For each folder I made a page of links and named it the same as the folder. I put the extra urls I have on these pages and put them in the appropriate folder.

That way you can have extra clickable links and the page only takes up the space of one site.

Use the "add from favorites" on your pagebuilder and just check the ones you want for the page you're making.

If you don't have an empty folder do this: Use pagebuilder and the "links" and put the contents of this folder on a page. When you have the file emptied and have organized your urls from the clipboard and put them on pages, then go to the page of sites that belong in the folder, click on each one and add them back.

Another way you could do it is to copy them on an email, put in the subject line what they are, send it to yourself and save in saved mail. I think many people do this and it works well for them.

Good Luck,
Mike

ORGANIZING IN FOLDER

I believe it was IOM who figured out that you could reorder them.
First, note down what order you want them. Then click on each one in that order and resave it.

MOVING FAVORITES

You can transfer favs to a pagebuilder site. There is a button and you see every fav folder and every fav in the folder you can click up to 25 favs at a time and put on the pagebuilder.......explained in full here:

ACCESSING FAVORITES

If you have ever wanted to access your Favorites Folders from another user account or while away from home and if you have gotten the error message:

"Your folder is already full. It can only hold 32 Favorites. To make room, organize your Favorites and remove some of them" have I got the solution for you!

The Page Builder has a special feature that allows you to easily copy all of your Favorites Folder onto a page. When you publish it, it will be available to you from any user account and wherever you access the internet (like from work, the library or Grandmom's house).

Also, the number of links you place on a page is not restricted to 32. Oh, the news gets better. When and if you leave WebTV, you can easily transload the entire page to another web host. You could even do it now by transloading the page to your Geocities (or Angelfire, Tripod, etc.) site.

Here's How to put your Favs Folders Online: From your start page, click on "Community." Click on "Page Builder."
Click on "Create."
Select a Page Style
Click on "Add an item."
Select "Links."
Click on "Add from Favorites" (near bottom on right).
Checkmark any of the web site titles.
Press "Done" (on bottom).
Press "Done" again (on bottom).
Press "Publish" on left sidebar.
Follow the prompts to fill in the page title, the description box will be used to generate meta description keywords, press "Continue" and press "Publish"

A few notes:

You can only click on 25 links at a time. You can add more than 25 links on a page by just selecting "Add from Favorites" again.

This is a great way to organize your folders because you can select web sites from each folder to put on your page. I recommend making a separate page for each folder.

If you want to take advantage of being able to put more than 32 favorites in one place but enjoy the fact that your bookmarks were behind a firewall and only accessible by you, you can elect to "Not Publish" at the end. You will still have this page but only you can access it from your user account.

You can now delete the Favorites in your folders and make room for more. Add the new ones to your Page Builder pages when you have time.

To add more links later:
Go to the Page Builder Index.
Click on the page you want to add more links to. Click on "Change page." Click on "Add an item."
Select "links."
Press "Add from Favorites."
Checkmark up to 25 sites at a time.
Click on "Done" (at bottom).
Click on "Done" again (at bottom).
Press "Publish" (on left sidebar).
Note: This "Publish" button is actually a "Save" button that saves any changes. Follow the prompts.
XO, Beth

MAKE AN F-KEY SAVER

Word by way of WebTV tech's is we have the ability to have 20 different folders with as many as 32 favorites inside. Why bother?
Go to Lucille's and once there pick up on making a simple clickable button F-key saver site:

http://www.wtv-zone.com/lucymae/Home/FKey.html

Find out how you can have all your favorites on one single web page instead of searching through a bunch of folders looking for something you haven't used for awhile.

If you really want that many you can have hundreds of favorites saved on a single page that you can save to a single folder instead of many favorite sites saved in many different folders.

Then if you'd like quick access to all the clickable links of favorites, place that site on a Shortcut F-key.

If you already Know how to CC&P copy/cut/and paste you will have it up and running in very little time and have saved lots of storage room in you Favorite Folder area for what ever reason you might want.

Hi All, I have found the best way is to save pages as usual in catagorized folders in favorites. Then ccp the url's to an fkeysaver & put the fkeysaver on F1 key from my personnal folder in favorites which contains all my F1-F7 keys. To view what I'm talking about is located here:

http://worldzone.net/family/dennis1951/fkeysaver.shtml.

At the top of the fkeysaver is the page you just came from with the first six buttons accessing tools to work with that url.

If you want to make your own fkeysaver, I have various blank ones located on my fkeysaver with a tutorial to help you make one up for yourself.

Go to the last button (Wolfs Pages), click & go to first one down (blank f-key savers).

You can store a thousand or more links on one of these. I hope this helps guys.

URL GATHERING

Then there is the "url gathering trick"
You use the go to box only in this version.

Go to first site hit go to, show current, add a title if you want putting a space between title and url.

Go to next site hit go to, show current (space) add title (space) CMD V then CMD A and repeat as many times as you need....... Then go to the write an E-mail screen

CMD V and mail.....

BACK UP YOUR FAVORITES PAGE

I create backups to my pages, so if you save your favorite links to a pagebuilder page and then put the url of the page in a "source' html checker you can cut, copy and paste your source code into an email and send it to yourself.

All of your links are there and if you lose your page your links are safe.

The links show up clickable too!!!!

I then forward the email to a another
one of my user address's so it won't
hog up space in my main user and
save it at the other user.

Try it.
terri

I back myself up by using an "independent" favorites site (another name for bookmarks!)
Try this: There is a site called: "Mybookmarks" You can access all your "favorites" from anywhere..(computer.. different browser,etc).. from this site! The url is:

www.mybookmarks.com

DISCARD FROM FAVORITES

I got tired of discarding a favorite site-waiting-starting at the top-scroll down-start all over again.

So I made a "discard folder" then went to favorite folder hit "organize" hit "move to folder" moved unwanted sites to "discard" then click "discard folder" scroll to bottom hit "discard all".

I call mine "Z.trashcan". The Z keeps it out of the way at the bottom of the list when you are saving things.

Having a discard folder also gives you a second chance to review in case you hit the wrong fav.
