Find Your Post And Problem Sites
FIND YOUR POST
For some of you folks who don't like wading through 1,500 posts to find your post, you might try this routine. I have no way of knowing your experience level with WebTV so forgive me if I'm talking down to you.
I will capitalize the names of keys and, when I say "select", I mean to move the cursor to that selectable element and press Return (remote keyboard) or Enter (wired keyboard).
(1) Go to the first page of the news group.
(2) Press Find. Enter in the box the name under which you posted.
(3) Press Return.
(4) If your name is found, the Find function will scroll to your name and highlight it.
To find the next occurrence, if you have more than one post on that page, press and hold Cmd and Press G.
If you wish to return to a prior occurrence, press and hold Cmd and press B.
(5) If you name is not found, you will get the message "Could not find the word on this page.
" Select "Scroll to bottom" and It will scroll to the plus sign on the page indicator on the bottom right of the page.
Press Return. It will jump to the top of the next page. Wait for the "oscilloscope" (heart beat) at the bottom of the page to level out.
(6)Repeat the procedure beginning with (2) above. Your name will still be in the box so you don't have to enter it each time. Once you get in the rhythm, it goes very quickly.
This procedure will work for any word that you type in the box and for any series of pages.
Once you find your post, "save it" in a favorite folder and when wanting to see other responses later, logon to it and it will take you to that post.
Hit your "reload" key (or CMD R) to bring the saved page current. Keep in mind, however, when the post falls "off the board", your saved favorite WILL DISAPPEAR also.

To see whether WebTV users are visiting your site, check your site's visitor logs for visitors from the webtv.net domain. Visits by WebTV users may be brief if your site doesn't work well on the WebTV browser, and return visits are even less likely.
Since the WebTV terminal does not have an extensive internal memory, it is not possible to download another browser.
