A Disclaimer:

This site was created by a concerned citizen activist and not employed with any national, state, county, and city employer...but welcomes information from any and all....PURPOSE of this page is to educate and create more community involvement....a great first lady (Lady Bird Johnson) from Texas concerned about our roadways suggested planting flowers, a tree, a bush.... I don't remember her suggesting planting "Bandit" signs along our roadways. On October 22, 1965 President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Highway Beautification Act.

for the removal and collection of unlawful (bandit) signs along our roadways.

 

THE LAW IS PLAINLY STATED on POLITICAL CAMPAIGN SIGNS

amazingly the law is many times placed on political campaign signs... many times can be seen placed illegally on public right-o-ways...THE LAW: "WARNING: Placement, posting, or erection of this material (sign) within the City of Houston is regulated by Sections 28-38 of the city's Code or Ordinance and Chapter 46 of the city's Building Code; violation thereof is punishable by a fine of up to 500 dollars. NOTICE: It is a violation of State Law (Chapters 392 and 393, transportation code) to place this sign in the right-of-way of a highway. .... Now lets take a tour...click on to the next page(s).
