Getting To Know Me (you)

It All Began With a Parade

20 years ago Labor Day weekend 1979...I decided to become a clown and collect money (basicly dimes nickels and quarters) for the Muscular Dystrophy Association....a few weeks later participated in another community parade (picture at side).

Evolving into my own character

During my first year as a clown for a number of parades, benefits and private parties, I had experienced changes...including recieving a rainbow colored wig for my birthday.... Which gave me my name as Rainbo de Klown in May of 1980.

Became a Clown Graduate 1988

After years of clowning I decided to go to clown school @ Cheerful Clown School in Houston, Texas....

Opportunities

I had used my skills in a variety of ways, then I started working for Eastern Onion Singing Telegrams, performing in a variety of character costumes.

including a Bette Midler impersonation

a few of us from Eastern Onion posing for the annual St. Patricks Day Parade in Houston.....

Entertainment....

children of all ages... painting faces, majic animal balloons... to wearing a variety of costumes; chicken, raisin, baby man, fairy (Peter Pansy), pink gorrilla, cupid, grim reaper, (bette) drag.... and the traditional...bell hop to wish people of all ages a happy special occasion.....and that is entertainment and much part of my life.....

TIP

Children of all ages love clowns and costume characters..... here is a tip, never throw the small children (especially 2 year olds) in front of a clown or other costume characters.... but give them time (their time) to accept the clowns and costume characters...they may accept these characters from a distance...or on t.v. but up close to them we are like monsters.... When the child sees older children and or adults (preferrably parents) accept the clown,,,, the child will many times come around... without tears...

Another tip is: put some time in planning your special occasion.... food, decorations, gifts and of course entertainment.....
