Located in Sanford and Lee County of North Carolina,San-Lee Park is a nature and recreation area for the residents of Lee County. The facility was originally the reservoir for the City of Sanford and was donated to the county when it became too small to sustain the city's water needs. You can view exhibits, picnic, walk on trails, boat, fish, or just relax. The Park contains one of the best mountain bike trails in North Carolina. |
The entrance is from Pumping Station Road which is on east side of Sanford. You can get there by going past the Community College and turning right, or off Route 42, the road to Fuquay-Varina .
Main BuildingThis building contains the offices and a number of excellent exhibits, including some live exhibits of animals, snakes and hawks. They are constantly being upgraded. |
