The Beaver Blast was awesome!!!
There was so much to do it was almost impossible not to have fun. I raced in jr 15-17 class and in TCR. First round of jr I beat Jared Hafer. 2nd round I lost to eventual class winner Sarah Heckman by only .003! In the 2nd chance race (Little Beaver) I won first round, then had Frank Markward 2nd round. I lost by only .014! In TCR first round I broke out running a 12.01 on a 12.03.
In good news, there were also turtle races, on a 20.00 index! Im happy to say that im the "King of the Turtles" winning both jr and TCR turtle races! This will most likely be the last race of the season for us. I just have too many band competitions! This updates page will be archived and a 2004 Updates will be created soon.

October 3-5, 2003

Just as in 2001, COLD was the word at Norwalk Raceway Park for the IHRA Bracket Finals. Temperatures in the 30s, plus winds around 20-30 mph made it feel like it was in the negatives. But the bad weather didn't stop us from having a great time. We arrived to NRP early friday morning. After getting set up in the pits and having a time shot, I entered the jr. gambles race. First round I treed my competitior, (can't cut .600 lights against me!) and picked up the round win. Before we were called for second round, a band of rain came. We were on delay for about 2 hours until they decided to call of the racing for the rest of the day; Anyone who was still in got their entry money paid back to them. So we packed up, headed to the hotel, and then out for dinner.
Saturday started out with a rain delay so they could dry the track, once we got underway, everyone got one time shot, then they ran the race of champions. Congrats to Beaver Spring's jr representative, Steve Singley, who won the jr race of champions. After the race of champions, it was supposed to be first round of eliminations for all classes, but because they were so far behind on schedual, the jr. and bike eliminations would all be on Sunday. So we packed up and went to the stands to cheer on all the team Beaver members. Once done we headed back to the hotel.
Sunday we got there and immedietly started to shine the car.... since I represented Beaver Springs in the Best Appearing Jr. Dragster specialty award. I didn't win, but I think some of those cars have more money just in the paint, then we have in in our whole car! I headed back to the pits and got ready for our last round of time shots. In my run I had a .504 light and ran almost exactly what I ran all weekend. First found of actual eliminations I raced a car from New York International Raceway. I killed him at the start and ran close enough to my dial to pick up the win. Going into 2nd round there was a terrible head wind. We dialed the car down .05 hoping the wind would stay steady. The kid I raced was from Toronto Motorsports Park. Our lights were almost identical, but the wind stopped blowing just as we were pulling on the track, causing me to break out by .013 giving Toronto the win. I tried my best, and thats all I can do!
Next weekend is the Beaver Blast race at Beaver Springs Dragway. An all jr. and TCR race. Be sure to get information or directions to the track from http://www.beaversprings.com!!!

The points racing for the 2003 season is now over. I finished 2nd in Beaver Springs points and I am qualified to go to bracket finals at Norwalk Raceway Park to represent Beaver Springs Dragway.
Today my lights were great and the car was running close all day. I was #1 qualifyer and then won first round over Kirstie Swain. I lost finals to Richie Bunting. I'm excited about going to Norwalk and I hope to bring home an ironman! I'm not sure what extra races we will be attending throughout the remainder of the year, but so far it looks like... Norwalk's bracket finals, Beaver Springs' Beaver Blast, Englishtown's halloween bash, and maybe to Silver Dollar or Gainesville in November. I'm sure theres others that i'm not thinking of! I'll keep you posted on where we're going, and how we do!
Next weekend is Beaver Springs' Sport Compact Shootout race. I'm begging my mom to go and race her Honda! I'll let you know if we go.

Labor Day weekend is now behind us. With a steady rain Saturday morning, and a "packed" pit area, and Beaver Bob's "I won't quit untill it's over" attitude, he got the complete show in! Everyone enjoyed the Super Charged Worriors, Pro-Stick, MANDRA and Outlaw Street. Jeremy, who has been on a mission to regain the junior dragster points lead from earlier in the season, was on the tree, and his car was running the number all day. The result was a trip to the finals against #1 Steve Singley. Steve had a slight advantage on the tree, but Jeremy was closer to the dial, giving Jeremy his 4th win of the season at The Beaver. Every time these two meet, the result is "black and blue!" Jeremy's MOV was .003!!
On Sunday, the best weather day of the weekend, Jeremy also made it to the finals. This time it was against 9 year old "rookie" Dylan Mountain! Dylan was hammering the tree all day, and running the number. He drilled Jeremy to the tree with a .506 reaction time resuting in his first win of his career!! Congrats to Dylan and his family...
Monday's racing became victom to the weather!
With next Sunday being the last points race of the season, Jeremy should finish second behind Steve Singley, and far enough ahead of third place Kate Roth, to get his spot on the roster for the Bracket World Finals at Norwalk, Ohio.
We'll keep ya posted!

Today at Beaver Springs I was sent home after 1st round once again. My 3 timeshots were as close to perfect as possible, all within .003. In qualifying I accidently rolled out of the stage beam and got a .240 light. With qualifying last, the ladder paired me against Nicole Belmonte. I had the better reaction time, but a strong headwind slowed us down .15 giving Nicole the round win. Nicole ended up losing finals to her brother Justin.
The racing for the day wasn't too terrible for us, congradulations to our sponsor Dave Bratton of J&D Trucking on winning top eliminator! Next weekend is going to be something else! We'll be racing Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at Beaver Springs.
See ya there!

What a weekend! Friday and Saturday we raced at Capitol Raceway for the NHRA division 1 race. My reaction times were very good (.520s) and the car ran within .003 on all 3 of my time shots. 1st round of eliminations I won over a car from Capitol. While in the lanes for 2nd round the rain came with very little warning. About an hour later the jet dryers were out on the track in the drying process. Once dry, they called us back to the lanes. With no clue what to dial, we just made a guess. I had the reaction time advantage, but took too much at top end and broke out by .03. Aside from the racing, we had a terrible time at Capitol. All from how they charged us at the gate, to the horrible cookout, to the 10 foot wide and pothole filled pit area, to how we had to drive all the way to the big car turnoff. If you really want to know how bad it was, just ask one of us in person. I doubt we'll be back there ever again. NHRA please move it to a different track!
On Sunday we raced at Beaver Springs and I brought myself to the finals against Steve Singley. First round I beat Richie Bunting. I the semi finals, I beat Kate Roth, which then brought me to the finals against Singley. I was closer to my dial-in, but Steve drilled me at the tree, giving him the win, to the delight of many, by .005.
Only 5 points races remain at Beaver

Beaver Spings Dragway's juniors really did some butt kicking at MIR! On Saturday everyone got 3 time shots. On each of the time shots an award was given out. I did not get any, but Steve Singley won the best reaction time and bogey race. But just as I was in the staging lanes for the 9.90 index class, the rain came and put an end to Saturday's racing.
On Sunday morning they had a "Dad's pit bike Challenge" race. My dad broke out in first round by .003! Then the juniors were called back to the lanes for their qualifying pass by age classes. I had a .533 reaction time and the car only picked up .08 from Saturday. 1st round of eliminations my competitor red-lighted giving me the automatic win. In 2nd round, my competitor ran right on his dial-in, but I had the much better reaction time at the start to win the round. In 3rd round it was heads up at the tree, we both had .520 reaction times, but I was closer to the dial in! In 4th round I was closer to the dial but my competitor's reaction time .534 beat my .568 and was enough to put an end to my class winnings.
After all of the age class racing was completed, the track said there would be enough time to finish out Saturday's index, frantic 15, and all-run bracket race. With no time shot, I had a .596 reaction time (on a .500 pro tree) and ran close enough to my 9.90 index to pick up the first round win. 2nd round I killed my competitor at the start with a .567 reaction time to her .643, and I ran a 9.929 and picked up the 2nd round win. For 3rd round there was only 3 cars left and I drew the bye run. Just as we were pulling onto the track, the rain came again! We waited and waited, and it was about 8:00 at night when they decided to award the winner and runner-ups of each index class to whoever had the best package from the previous round. I had a .567 and was .029 from my index which makes a .096 package. The announcement of the winners came and I was the 9.90 index class champion! After pictures, and then packing up the trailer, we left MIR aroung 10:30 that night and headed back home to Pennsylvania!
(Pics from MIR coming soon!)
Next week is another big racing weekend at Capitol Raceway for the NHRA division 1 divisionals. We'll be representing Numidia Raceway.
See you there!

A weekend of racing at the beaver is now history. Friday night was Beaver Spring's flashback friday race (no juniors). Saturday was the Summer Mean streets and a BSD points race. First round I had Kirstie Swain. Kirstie's .665 light aginst my .553 gave me the win, even though she was closer to her dial. In the 2nd round I raced the current point leader Steve Singley. I had the better reaction time and won the race on a double breakout. In the 3rd round (semi finals) I had the bye run to the finals... but just as we were ready to race the rain come and put an end to the day.
On sunday morning, during time shots, we finished saturday nights racing. I took my buy run and then Kate roth beat Jared Hafer. In the finals I had a .583 light but it was still good enough to give me the win by .026 MOV. While we still had Sunday's racing to go, I ended up facing point leader Steve Singley first round. While in the lanes to race, the rain came and ruined Sunday's racing. But out of the two days of racing we at least got in one full race. I'm now exactly 1000 points behind Steve Singley.
On friday all of the "Junior Beavers" are going to Maryland International Raceway for the IHRA jr dragster nationals. I'll be running in the 14-17 age group and most likely the 9.90 index.
See ya!

Great lights today in timeshots came to haunt me in the 1st round today. I qualified #2 with a .521, but a .483 first round light against Tyler Swain gave him the round win and the buy to the semis. Tyler's sister Kirstie won the even over Steve Singley. I'm looking forward to Divisionals in 2 weeks. We're still not sure if we are going to the IHRA Nationals at MIR on Aug. 9 and 10th.
See ya soon (somewhere)

WHAT A DAY!!!! Jeremy got his IHRA "TCR" license today at Beaver Springs. He did a great job driving Trish's Honda!!! The car was a "timex" but Jeremy and I had a rough time getting his roll-out of the Honda to match his Junior!! The result was a .486 red to J.Noon in the first round!

In the Junior Dragster, Jeremy's lights wern't the greatest, but they were consistant! The result as a trip to the finals against none other than Vinnie DeMino!!! Vinnie was runner up to Jeremy at Numidia last week for the Junior Dragster Challange. Vinnie nailed the tree with a .502 to Jeremy's .553 but ran too quick. A 9.44 on a 9.50 dial. Jeremy's 9.26 on a 9.24 dial gave him his 2nd win of the season at the Beaver...

See ya next week!!!!

I'm happy to report that a trip to Numidia Raceway today was well worth it. I competed in the NHRA Jr. Dragster Challenge, and WON! There was plenty of cars to race. The field was made up of most of the Numidia regulars, and also cars from Island, NJ and Maple Grove. It was just one of the days I was "on-the-tree" and the car was running the number.
To make this update short, i'll skip to the semis, where I raced April Beidler. April was #1 qualifier and was good on the lights all day, but she squeezed the tree too quick with a .499 red! In the finals I raced Island Dragway racer, Vinny DiMino. I left the line with a .535 reaction time, but DiMino broke shortly after leaving the starting line, giving me an easy pass to the event win.
This is only my 2nd win of the entire season, and 1st win of the season at Numidia. I'm at a loss for words so I want to quick thank...
Bracketeer Race Gear, Walt's BEST Gas Station, JLink Internet Service, a sponsor not on the car yet Class 1 Transport, Mainville Garage, "Crew Chief" Dad and "Co Crew Chief" Mom, the rest of my friends and family, and Numidia Raceway for putting on this racing event.
Next weekend I might be making my TCR debut in my Mom's Honda at Beaver Springs. We should be there Saturday night and also on Sunday.
Hope to see ya there!

We only raced one race this weekend. We raced at Beaver Springs, on Sunday and I was sent home after 1st round. I was paired against Jared Hafer. Jared had the tree by .016. The wind was playing games all day long. We dialed the car to run without the wind, but just as we staged, I could see the wind blowing at a straight head wind. The result was the car falling off over .10. Jared lost 2nd round to the eventual race winner, Kate Roth.
I am now down to 4th in points, but the season is FAR from being over.

What a 5 day racing wekend!
We arrived at Maple Grove Wednesday, got our pit area, went through tech (car and fuel) with no problem! Spent the day visiting some of our southern and western friends that we have not seen nor talked to (other than the internet) for some time! We also made some new ones!!!
Thursday... Jeremy's lights were good, and the car was on kill, running back-to-back numbers in qualifying! With the daytime temp in the 90's, it was hot to say the least.
Friday... 1st round Jeremy was paired against a car from Gainesville, Florida.... He was on the tree, and the car ran the number, making it a short conference for them.... Saturday morning (with no time shot) Jeremy was a little too quick on the tree! A .484 red and ended his hopes of a "Walley." But we had a great time.... With Beaver Springs running Saturday night with the Pro-Am tour, and us only being 2 hours away, we packed-up and headed to the Beaver..
So did most of the other Beaver regulars. We were proud to hear that Kate Roth had made it to the finals in the 13 year old class.... The Roth team also made the trip to the Beaver, taging onto the end of the lader.... Jeremy, after being #1 qulifier, ended Kate's day in the semi's
The result was a trip to the finals against Jared Hafer! Jared had a the advantage on the tree, and it was enough to give him his first event win of the season!!! Sunday, we went to Numidia... With a 15 car field of juniors, it was a good turnout! Jeremy lost 2nd round to a car from Illinois!
It was a long weekend, BUT WE HAD FUN!!
Trish goes into surgery Thursday, so our plans for Salem, Ohio Friday, are still unknown...

HAVE A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!!!!

Sunday was our last race before Eastern Conference... AND WE DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING!!! Anyway, we raced at Beaver Springs. I was killer on the tree all day with my worst RT being a .525, and that was in qualifying, and it was even good enough to take #1 qualifying spot! The pairings were announced over the PA system and once again I paired up with last year's champ Steve Singley. He had the tree, slightly, with his .517 to my .522, but the air changed very sudden and the race was a double-breakout. I broke out by .06 and he broke out by .05, giving him the win by .010.

We will be leaving Wednesday for Maple Grove Raceway, for the Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Championship. We'll be representing Team Numidia. We should be pitting somewhere back just past the turn-off at the end of the track, so look for us and say "HI!"
See Ya There!

Sorry for the late posting! Too much work and not enough racing!!
We made the 210+ mile trip to Pittsburgh Raceway Park last saturday for the Keystone State Challenge, and KICKED THERE BUTTS!!
Click here for photo by Todd Dziadosz!
Jeremy made it to semi finals and lost to event winner Steve Singley... Sunday at The Beaver, Jeremy was #1 qualifier and again met Steve in the semis.... Sad to say the result was the same... Steve went to the finals, but lost to Kate Roth! We did have a great time! Monday I was treated to the day at Great Adventure Ammusement Park in New Jeresy!! The weather man is calling for rain again this weekend!!!!! When will it stop??

We're looking forward to the Eastern Conference Championship at Maple Grove Raceway next week... Test & tune Wednesday, time shots Thursday, first round Friday, and finals Saturday... Jeremy has a points race at The Beaver Saturday night, and one Sunday at Numidia!!!! 5 days of racing at 3 tracks!!!!
See ya at one of the tracks!!!
(if it isn't raining!)

June 8, 2003

Finally we raced! But not without some rain. Rain spoiled the Saturday night race at Beaver Springs. But now after not racing since May 11 because of my Florida band trip and all the rain we've had we finally raced at Numidia on Sunday (Beaver Springs had a motocycle only race, "Phychofest"). The sun was out and the car was running good. My lights were good too. I was #1 qualifyer with a .518 and 1st round I raced Justin Bowden. I had the reaction advantage but took the car .002 too quick at top end to lose the race. Oops!
Next Saturday we'll be going to Pittsburgh Raceway Park for the "Keystone State Challenge" race. I'm not sure yet where we'll be racing on Sunday, but on Monday we're taking dad to Six Flags Great Adventure!
See ya at the track!

Another weekend of rain!! Jeremy was not upset over the rain outs May 18th or last weekend. He only missed one race, as he was in Disney World with the Bloomsburg High School Marching Band... This weekend, he was ready to race, only to have the rain "settle in" for the weekend. The rain stoped the racing at Maple Grove, Numidia and Beaver Springs!

This Saturday "NIGHT" we'll be at The Beaver!
Gates open at 3:00 PM! See ya there!

Jeremy and I made the decision to go to Beaver Springs today.... The rain also did the same!!! We had the time to make it back to Numidia, (they got the show in) but decided to take the day off and go to Knoebels Amusement Resort!!!! Jeremy will miss the entire Memorial Day weekend of racing, as the Bloomsburg High School Marching Band will play in Disney World....
Big choice... Go to Disney World, or race!!!
HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!
