By Jeremy:
Our trip to Virginia Motorsports Park was alot of fun. We left for VMP Saturday night around 10PM and arrived at the track early Sunday morning. I entered into the 8.90 and 9.90 index classes. After tech, we made 3 good time shots, and I won the Bogey race in the 8.90 by running an 8.905 with an .027 reaction time. In first round of 9.90, I simply got beat at the tree, and ended up losing on a double breakout. First round of 8.90 I had the bye run for winning the bogey race. 2nd round of 8.90 is where it all went wrong... the track conditions started to go away. I had the starting line advantage by over .05 seconds, but ended up spinning at the starting line and at about 330' causing me to slow to a losing 9.16. To make matters worse, the car I lost to was a "buy-back" who lost first round. I don't know where VMP got the idea of having first round losers pay half their entry to get back in the race. If you lose... YOU LOSE. What should be instituted is a consolation race instead. It puts the losers in their own separate class and allows the winners to find out who the true winner is. Just my thoughts!!!
Other than "buy-backs," we had a great time at the race. I didn't win, but I gave it my best shot and people who may have forgotten, sure remembered the name Jeremy Campbell.
It looks like we are done now until next spring. The Jr Footbreak Nationals at Bama Dragway seems a little out of our league unless we can pick up a major sponsorship between now and then. I had a great 2004 season, and I can't wait for 2005. It will be my final year in jr dragster, so look out for number 1189! Plans for the winter include resting, relaxing, and maybe building a bigger motor! We'll be attending the BSD banquet on January 29th, 2005 at the Lewistown Moose. If we don't see you between now and then, have a happy holiday and we'll see you in the spring!!

The 2004 racing season is not over yet! We will be making the trip to the Junior Jamm at Virginia Motorsports Park on Sunday for the Index race. It will be great to go back to VMP since the last time we went I lost finals in my age class in 2002. I wanted to go for both Saturday and Sunday but our marching band qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships, which are all day on Saturday. And this is an event which I can not miss since i'm our band's best drummer! But i'll be there racing in most likely the 8.90 Index class.
Another race which looks like a big possibility is the Jr Dragster Footbreak Nationals at Bama Dragway, Alabama. $10,000 to win class and a $20,000 turn key race plus index and quick-32 races! At $100 entry fee per car and driver and $50 for the index classes, I am searching for a sponsor for this race and definetly hope to be there. We let you know if we're going and how we do at VMP!
See ya at the track

BY WARREN:
It looks like our 2004 racing season has come to an end. Numidia's "walley race" fell victom to rain showers and will be held in the spring of 2005. Before the rain came, Jeremy got a time shot, and was #1 qulo. with a .006 light. Oh well.... Jeremy sais this was his best season yet! He only scored 10 wins this season, but they were big ones at 3 different tracks. The "quick 32" of the Beaver Blast, "King of the mountian" at the National Dragster Challenge race at South Mountian Dragway top the list! Last but not least, his one trip to Island Dragway resulted in a class win! Finnishing 2nd in Beaver Springs points to Steve Singley was no shame. After missing races due to band competitions being re-scheduled and his sisters wedding Memorial Day weekend. He did manage 6 regular event wins at the Beaver!

Band competitions, and football games take every weekend now 'till Thanksgiving.

I don't think we will be making the trip to Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga. for the 7th Annual "Peach State Jr Dragster Nationals" November 26-27, but don't count out a trip to Bama Dragway in Sumiton, Alabama for the December 30-31, 2004 & January 1, 2005 "3rd Annual Junior Dragster Footbrake Nationals!
A Junior Dragster race with a $75,000 purse paying $10,000 to the winner, and a $20,000 "turn key car & trailer" race.

We'll have to take a very close look at making the trip!!!!!!!!

Have a great off season. See ya next year!!!!

The Beaver Blast was once again the most fun race of the season. The was a great turnout of cars (both juniors and TCR) considering several local tracks were running rescheduled races the same weekend. Saturday we devoted to running the jr in the 330' and racing my mom's honda in TCR... and it really turned out to be a great day!! A trip to the finals in 2 classes with 2 different cars! I made way into the Quick-32 (330') by running a 5.56 in qualifying. In my two pro tree qualifying sessions I was .002 and .011!! On .500 pro tree!! First round of eliminations I took out Mandy Markward, she ran right on her dial but I was perfect .000 of the starting line! 2nd round I had a .003 reaction time and defeated Cale Snyder, and in the Semis I had a .009 reaction time and ran right on my dial to pick up the win over Steve Singley. In the finals I raced Jeff Serra. Jeff was dialed 5.60 to my 5.59, nearly heads up! In a double breakout at the finish line, I picked up the event win by .009 MOV!!! The day was only better when I made it to the finals of TCR. In the finals I was against TCR regular Zach Caswell. I knew he was on the tree so I had to go for it. The result was me going -.023 red. Oh well, we still had a great day!
On Sunday I raced in the 15-17 year old age class. I opted not to race in TCR so I could put full concentration on the junior dragster. I ran very consistant in time trials and ended up racing Jeff Serra again 1st round. I used a big starting line advantage to pick up the round win. Second round I raced Mandy Markward again. I had another big advantage at the starting line and picked up the win. In the semi finals I raced Cale Snyder... again! (every car I raced in my age class I raced on Saturday in the Quick-32... go figure that!) I beat Cale on Saturday in the Quick-32 but it was his turn this time. Cale's .014 reaction and 7.94 on a 7.94 dial was too much for me, ending my awesome weekend. Cale went on to lose the finals of the 15-17 class to Eric Peterka. The overall top beaver winner was Chase Fahnestock from South Mountain Dragway over Amanda Klinger. This weekend is homecoming at my school so racing is going to be out of the question. Our next race looks like the Jr. Challenge at Numidia Raceway.
See ya there!

With the massave local flood damage done by hurricane Ivan, I am glad to say other than a little surface water that the sump pump took care of, we were high and dry. The same could not be said about the Bloomsburg High School football field. At the crest of the high water, the only part visible was the top of the goal post uprights!!! Thats 9'+ of water & debris on a brand new field!!!

Jeremy had allready given up his spot on the Team Beaver roster for the Norwalk Divisionals this weekend. Now with all home field games & competitions being relocated or postponed, we had an open weekend. Yesterday we made the trip to the track Jeremy started his racing career at back in 1996, Island Dragway. The trip was well worth it. With a good field of juniors, Jeremy had his work cut out for him. A -.014 reaction put him "last on the ladder." With heart and soul at 110%, Jeremy went round after round hitting the tree, and the car backing up the number. A combinaton like that is very hard to beat. It got him the event win, his first at Island Dragway!!!

Our next event will be "THE BEAVER BLAST"

We went to the Jr. Dragster Challenge at South Mountain Dragway, and had a great time again. A field of cars were on hand all for one reason, to get the "Crystal Junior" trophy. A long day, with cars from Beaver Springs, Maple Grove, Mason-Dixon, and South Mountain proved to be worth the trip. I'm happy to say that trophy sits in our downstairs living room. In my usual fashion, I was number one qualifyer with a .005 reaction time, but there was an even field. First round I raced car #1313 and I had the tree by .032 which allowed me to pick up the win. In round two I beat car #1495. I had a .007 reaction to his .053 giving me an easy win. In round 3 there was an odd number of cars and I finally got a bye run. In round 4 I was against Tina Orth. Tina went -.006 at the tree gving me the win. In the final round of the day I was against South Mountain's best, Derrick Riddle. My .017 reaction was no match for Derrick's late .092 giving me the Jr. Dragster Challenge win. What a day! My worst reaction time out of 7 races was a .032 and the car ran 8.99 to 9.01 all day! As soon as we get the pictures from the race I'll definetly get them on here. Our next big race looks like the Beaver Blast at Beaver Springs Dragway on October 9-10... if you didn't go to the Beaver Blast last year, make sure if you have a free weekend that you do NOT miss this race!
See ya there

Labor Day weekend is now over, which means the end of points at Beaver Springs Dragway. We tried our best the whole year, and I ended up finishing second to Steve Singley. We plan on hitting some bigger races now that point racing is over. The races we are most looking at are the Jr. Dragster Challenge at South Mountain, the Beaver Blast, the Mid-Atlantic Shootout, the Halloween Bash, and possibly a trip to Silver Dollar or Gainesville. We'll definety keep you updated of where we are, how we're doing, and where we are going next.
See you, somewhere!

Well, we didn't win the Ironman at the IHRA nationals but we had a great time. Saturday was a total washout due to hurricane Charley, so all of the weekend's racing was crammed into Sunday. In the 8.90 index class I made it to the 1/4 finals where I ran a too fast 8.889. In the class racing I lost 2nd round to the person who lost finals. I had the tree with a .019 to a .020 but he ran right on his dial and I was .01 off giving him the win by .008. Oh well we got to see alot of our friends that we haven't seen since last year and we had a great time.
See ya next week

Another BSD points race is now behind us. The car was running about .10 slow because of the high humidity and slight head wind. After getting started an hour late because of rain the night before, Bob got the show in. In qualifying I was last position qualifyer due to circumstances beyond my control, which resulted in racing Steve Singley first round. Steve left the line with a .017 to my .047 light and he ran right on a 7.95 dial in to take the win light and the BSD points lead. Next Sunday we will be back at BSD for the last points race before the IHRA Jr. Nationals at MIR.
See ya there

There were many cars today at Beaver Springs for the Pittsburgh Challenge race. In my 3 time runs I ran an 8.94, 8.96, and 8.98. In qualifying I was number 1 with a .004 reaction time. First round I was against Pittsburgh's Josh Florentine. I left the starting line with a -.011 red light handing the round win to Josh. To the delight of many, the eventual race winner was Steve Singley. There's alot of "she said," "he said," "they said" going on both at and away from the track, and its bringing back memories of a time period I would like to forget. I consider everyone at the track a friend and hope that it can stay that way. When I race, I race to win and I'll always give 110% toward our common goal... a track championship.

Just remember that "Rickity Racket" doesn't quit, and we will be back next week.

We are looking forward to representing Beaver Springs at Maryland International August 14 & 15.

Even though I didn't bring back the "Wally", our trip to Bristol Dragway was alot of fun. We arrived Tuesday morning and then after sitting along the highway for an hour we entered the track. The track personel were not the greatest or the most friendly around, and 3 hours later we made it through tech. It was really nice to see alot of our friends that we only see once or twice a year and meet new friends from all over the Eastern US. Because of the time and the cost we chose not to pay $50 for the Tuesday test and tune and headed to our hotel, Bristol Lodging. We went swimming in our pool for a little and then the Roths, Singleys, and us went out for a nice dinner.
On Wednesday we decided to race in the "Fun Race" along with 600 other racers. My reaction time on my time shot was .024 and the car ran a 9.07 which was excellent for the thick air and the extra 15 lbs of weight we added to the car. First round I treed my competitior and picked up the win. 2nd round was the same story, I had the tree and won. For 3rd round of my class there were 14 cars remaining. Once again I had the tree over my competitior and the car ran the number, sending me to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals is where the tables were turned on me. My competitor had a .013 reaction and ran the dial, sending me back to the pits. After doing great in the Fun Race, I was ready for the Eastern Conference.
My 2 time trials were great on Thursday. My lights were a .020 and a .039, and the car ran almost exactly as predicted, a 9.09 and a 9.13. Friday was the qualifying round and first round of eliminations. My qualifying reaction time was a .059 and the car ran a 9.09. For first round I was matched against a 7.90 car as always. As I approached the pre-stage beam and stopped, all of the sudden the carbourator started going nuts! The RPMs started going down and down to less than 2500 till I started playing with the throttle to bring them up. By this time I had to stage before the starter disqualifyed me. With all of this going on, worrying about staging, nervous for the race, and a car that is going to stall, broke all of my concentration on the light and I ended up with a .100 reaction time and the car falling off to a 9.19 on a 9.13 dial sending me "Wallyless" back to Pennsylvania. After we got back to our pit area, we tore the carbourator apart and found the problem... Well of all times for our carb to break it does it first round of the Eastern Conference right at the starting line.
Thats my luck! If it wouldn't be for bad luck, I wouldn't have luck at all. But instead of dwelling on the loss I'm putting it behind me and gunna focus on kicking some butt at Maryland International Raceway on August 14-15 at the IHRA Eastern Jr Nationals. I don't think we will be going back to Capitol Raceway for the NHRA Division 1 Championship until it is moved to a better facility. So if we don't see you at MIR, the next big races on our schedule are the IHRA Bracket World Finals at Norwalk, the Beaver Blast at BSD and the Halloween Bash at Englishtown.
Next Sunday the 25th is the Keystone State Challenge Part 2: Pittsburgh AT Beaver Springs. "Lets show 'um up again Beavers!"
See ya at the track!

Another great weekend is now over... and another event win for me. Saturday night at Beaver Springs was the Summer Mean Streets and a Saturday night BSD point race. A number one qualifying position gave me the first round bye run. The car was running great all day either a 8.89 or an 8.88. In the finals I had the reaction time advantage by .106 over Justin Bowden and used that advantage to pick up my 6th BSD win of 2004.
Sunday was the opening points race at Numidia Raceway. It was nice to be back to our home track and meet the new track owners. A #2 qualifying position paired me against Cale Snyder in the first round. Cale red lighted the round away and gave me the automatic win. In the finals I met up with Sarah Heckman. Sarah and I were both running excelent all day, and we knew it would be a great race! Sarah dialed a 8.19 and ran right on with a 8.199. I dialed 8.83 and just stopped the timers early with a 8.822 giving Sarah the event win.
I'M READY FOR BRISTOL! We will be leaving sometime late Monday night for Bristol Dragway, TN to compete in the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals. We hope to see everybody there so stop by and say "hi" if you see us. We will be pitting with and representing team South Mountain. Don't be looking for us with a red and white car. We will be racing with our "new look". Stop by and see!
Have a safe trip and we'll see you in Thunder Valley!

It's been a very busy past two weeks. Last Saturday, the IHRA Pro-Am series had top billing at The Beaver. Jeremy did his part of showing them how the Beaver regulars get the job done. Jeremy picked up his 3rd win at Beaver Springs, and his 4th of the season.
This weekend (3rd & 4th of July), he continued his win streak. Both Saturday and Sunday Steve Singley was on the runner-up side! With the car now running the number, and Jeremy being "on the tree" he has taken the Beaver Springs Junior Dragster points lead by 2 over Steve Singley!!!
We're getting ready for the trip to Bristol, Tn. for the NHRA Eastern Conference Finals. Jeremy is proud to be representing South Mountian Dragway. Next Saturday nite, the Beaver will host the Mean Street Nationals. Regular IHRA classes will join the program...
See ya there.... Gates open at 12 noon!!!!!!

Another Singley VS Campbell final at Beaver Springs is in the books. I was #1 qualifyer and was against Erin from South Mountain first round. I had a .028 to Erin's .037 reaction time and I ran closer to my dial to pick up the win. Being #1 qualifyer gave me the bye run to the finals, where I would eventually face Steve Singley. Last week I won the finals over Singley but it was his turn. I had a bad .096 reaction to his .059 which was enough to give him the event win. With the win, Singley took over the point lead and caused the points to really tighten up. Now only 3 rounds of racing separate the top 3 in points! We will be at Beaver Springs next Saturday night.
See ya there!

Saturday night racing at BSD was great seeing all of the Psychogang guys and their awesome bikes! My car was running a little slow but still consistant as always. In qualifying my .001 reaction gave me the first round bye. In the 2nd round I faced Jeremy Moyer. He was right on his dial-in but a bad reaction time put an end to his day. In the finals it was the race of champions; me against Steve Singley. I had the reaction time advantage with a .027 to his .044 but Steve ran a 7.996 on a 8.00 dial giving me my 2nd win at BSD this year and 3rd of the season.
See ya at the track!!

Happy Memorial Day weekend!!!
First off, I'm happy to say Rachel's wedding on Saturday was great to say the least. We all can now get back to a normal life! (if that is possible)
On the racing side, The Roths' (Kate & Sarah) and Jeremy went to South Mountian Dragway to register for points and qualify for the Eastern Conference at Bristol, Tn. To make a long story short, we had a blast! The track reminded me so much of Reading Motorcycle Club!!! The 11 car field came down to an all "Beaver Springs" final! Kate vs Jeremy. With Jeremy's car running 8.91 & 8.92 all day and his reaction times good, Kate squeezed the tree too hard and went red. After having two .50's it's bound to happen... We know!! We all went out for dinner after the days event!!! Jeremy is now "all pumped-up" looking forward to going to Bristol in July.... Today the weather man again claimed the Monday show at The Beaver.
See ya next Sunday at The Beaver!!!
