A very stressful day turned into a good day at Numidia today. After blowing the blockzilla before qualifying, we quickly changed to our 10.50s backup motor. With only 2 attempts at the tree before eliminations, I took the number 1 qualifying spot which gave me the first round bye run. I made it to the finals where I raced Chelsea Summerhill. Chelsea had the starting line advantage with her .010 reaction time, but I picked up the event win in a double breakout. This is my 4th win of the season!
Team Numidia's roster has been sent to NHRA, and I'm proud to say that I will be Numidia Raceway's representative in the Race of Champions at Divisionals in 3 weeks. If we get our big motor back by Aug 13-14, we will be traveling to Maryland International Raceway to compete in the IHRA Junior Nationals.
Next weekend IS a point race at Numidia. See ya there!

We had a great day of racing at Numidia on Sunday. The car was running very consistent 8.90s and most of my lights were in the .020s and .030s. The result was a trip to the finals against Justin Bowden. The race was for the Numidia Raceway point lead and my .044 light and 8.94 on a 8.93 dial was good enough to pick up the win. This is my third win of the season and I now hold the Numidia point lead by just 4 points!! The roster for divisionals goes in after next weeks competition, so hopefully I can hold my point lead and be able to compete in my fourth race of champions! See ya next weekend!

Band competitions, chorus competitions, school trips, robotics, and a whole bunch of other things have forced us into a late start to the season. We raced once at Beaver Springs, once at Island, and twice at Numidia. The first race of the season at Beaver Springs I red-lighted first round with a -.011. The bad news came when we decided to make a trip to Island Dragway. Numidia hadn't opened yet and we needed to make sure we got to race at an NHRA track to be eligible to race at the Eastern Cpnference in Bristol, TN. On my first pass down the track at Island, the crank broke in the motor, ending my day. So we came home and took out our backup... the 10.50s motor I used to capture the 2000 Numidia track championship.
We then used that motor to race the first two races of the season at Numidia. The first race I lost semifinals to Vinny Dimino and just this Sunday I picked up my first win of the season over Chelsea Summerhill. I'm very happy with the way this old raptor motor is running. It's not fast, but deadly consistant and I can still cut a light! We hope to have the blockzilla motor back for the trip to Bristol, but if not I will not be that upset.
We will be racing now full time at Numidia and whenever possible at Beaver Springs. I would like to go to a few night races at Beaver now that they are getting a sports lighting system. Thanks Bob!
I've also been racing the Honda on Friday nights and some Sundays at Numidia, getting ready for the high school challenge race.
I have it figured that I am 2nd in Jr points at Numidia only 1 round behind Justin Bowden! I'm really looking forward to the divisionals at Maple Grove this year!!! Thank you NHRA for moving it away from that other "race track"!
See ya at the track!

After talking to Fred Craw about the upcoming "Footbreak Nationals" at Bama Dragway in Alabama New Years Eve & New Years Day, we've decided not to make the trip. After taking a closer look into the rules, "buy-back" or "re-entry" (what ever you want to call it) will be allowed!!!!! It makes it possible, that you may have to beet the same car 3 times to advance rounds!!! This is only to the advantave of the teams that have $$$$$ and the promoter making $$$$$!!!!!.
After what happened at The Junior Jamm (Virginia Motorsports Park) with "buy-backs" I will not field a racecar at a race when "buy-back" or "re-entry" is part of the program....

Have a great Holiday Season!
See ya next year!
