She would not want me
to moan and cry;
she ne'er e'en wanted
to say goodbye.
She would not want me
to wallow in grief.
She's in a far better place --
that is my belief:
A place of meadows to run,
burrows to explore,
bagpipes and haggis,
where pain is no more.
So here, by this grassy grave,
I will try to be strong,
and shed a single tear for Bonnie,
and then I shall move on.
